The next day.

*Kayden's POV*
I woke up feeling strange. Or well, strange might not be the right word, but it's just that I haven't felt this way in a long time. It was confusing, mostly because I knew I shouldn't be feeling this way. It wouldn't work out anyways, and I'd only end up getting hurt. I should just forget about it.

I turned to look at the clock, and noticed it was already 11 am. I get one day off a week and I managed to spent half of it sleeping. Good job Kayden.
I heard a knock on the door, something that doesn't happen too often. "Yes?" I said.
"The king asked if you were willing to spend the day with him. If you do, his advice was to wear something comfortable." The voice sounded like it was coming from a teenage girl. It wasn't uncommon for them to work at the palace, but Loki wouldn't allow it unless they actually wanted to. Some girls wanted to because they had lost everyone during the battle, so they didn't really have any place to go. Most of the time the older women would look after them, and they'd always tell Loki if one of them wasn't capable of working, no matter the reason. In the beginning he didn't really care, but eventually he let them take rest.
"Sir?" "Oh I'm sorry. Uhm, you can tell him I'll be there in a bit. Just need to get ready." "Alright. I'll let him know."
I heard footsteps going away from the door, meaning the girl was on her way to tell Loki I'd be there soon.
'Well.. So much for a day of relaxing.' I thought. I opened my closet, and tried to find something comfortable. After a few minutes I decided jeans and a white t-shirt would be fine, Loki would just have to deal with it. I wondered what he was up though.
Once I got dressed, I started to fight with my hair, which was an even bigger mess than it is usually. After a while I decided to give up and live with the fact that my hair was too stubborn to do what I wanted it to today.

Since I didn't have breakfast yet, I went to the dining room first. I've hated the sound of that since day one. Breakfast in a dining room. It just sounds so wrong. I sighed and stepped inside.
I sat down, and just as I started to make my breakfast, someone sat down next to me. "Good morning. Or should I say good afternoon?"
I could hear the sarcasm in Loki's voice, but it didn't sound like he was pissed or anything. "Good morning is fine, same to you." I said. "Well, you do not seem to be much of a morning person." Loki said. "That might just be because I'm not. Didn't mean to sleep this long though, but I'll just have to live with that I guess." I started eating, and soon realized Loki was staring at me. "You know, it's pretty uncomfortable to eat when someone's staring at me like that." Not that he could understand what I was saying, my mouth was filled with bread. 'Really charming Kay..' I thought.
"Yes, you're right. I'm sorry." It sounded as if he thought I was actually pissed at him. "It's okay, just try to stare a bit less." I laughed.

After I finished eating, I asked him what his idea of spending the day together was. I was praying he wouldn't start talking about horse riding, since my butt was still sore from yesterday. Sadly he wanted to do exactly that, but when he saw my face he realized I wasn't really too happy with that idea.
"Very well, what do you wish to do then?" He asked. I had to think for a while, but came up with an idea soon enough. "Well usually on my day off I watch some films. Have you ever done that?" He looked at me as if I just started speaking Chinese, so the answer was obviously no. "Are you up for that? 'Cause if it seems dumb to you we could just do something else." I said.
"No I would love to, it's just that I usually do not go into the room of a guard." He said. "Well if you think we're a bunch of messy pigs, you're wrong. Or at least about me, I don't know about the others to be honest." He laughed, and got up. "Shall we go then?" I got up as well, and we started walking towards my room again. It felt a bit odd to walk there with Loki, but at the same time it made me happy. Especially because it meant I wouldn't be spending the entire day all by myself.

When we got to my room, I let myself fall down onto my bed and I turned on the tv. I was pretty damn happy he didn't take that away from us. "You know, it'll probably be more comfortable to watch while sitting down." I told Loki. He was still standing at the door, as if he didn't have the guts to sit on the same bed as me. He seemed to be hesitating, but eventually he walked up to the bed and sat down next to me.
"Okay, so what do you want to watch?" I asked. "I do not know, this is all very new to me." I looked at him in disbelief. "So what you're saying is.. You've lived here for like six years, but you have never ever watched a movie?" "Exactly."
I shrugged, and started scrolling through the ones that I had.

"How about this one?" I said when I came across Cabin in the Woods. (A/N you should watch it some time, it's awesome) "What is it about?" "Well... The title says it all. A cabin in the woods." I didn't really feel like mentioning the genre, it seemed fun to me if it'd actually freak him out a bit. "Well, lets watch then."

After a while it seemed as if Loki didn't really get scared at all, but that might just be because he was too amazed by how they managed to come up with a storyline and then actually produce it like this. Eventually I felt that he did get scared for a second. He nearly jumped up, and let out some sort of squeal. "You're not actually scared are you?" I teased. "Not in the slightest. What makes you think so?" He answered. "Oh I don't know, maybe the near jumping, the squeal. Who knows."
He gave me an irritated look, apparently he didn't realize I was joking. "Hey, I'm just kidding, okay? I got a few jumpscares too the first time I watched it." "Of course you did. How much longer is this so called movie anyways?" "About 20. Almost done."

When the movie was over we still had the afternoon to spend, but we didn't really have any ideas of things to do, so we just passed the time talking while sitting on my bed. Eventually I was starting to get tired again, so I layed down.
"Don't worry, I won't fall asleep." I told Loki. "Are you sure? I can see that you are struggling to keep your eyes open." "I'm sure." He was right though. It was hard to stay awake. I decided to take the risk, and layed down against him. At first I could feel him being uncomfortable, but after a few minutes he layed his arm around me and pulled me a bit closer.
I could feel myself doze off, and pretty soon I fell asleep, dreaming of the afternoon we had together.

When I woke up, I noticed Loki was gone. I sat up straight, looking around my room to see if he was here anyways, but it turned out I was alone. I got up and walked towards my mirror, but saw a note on my desk before I got there. "Kayden" it said. Yeah well, it's not as if anyone else would get in my room. I opened it up.
"I am sorry I left so suddenly. I will make up for it after dinner. I hope to see you there.
Loki."
"Well you got some making up to do then.."
I got ready for dinner, since I had an awful bedhead. Once I got to the dining room, I walked towards Loki and sat down next to him. "You could've just told me you had to go you know." "I know, and like I said, I am sorry." "Yeah well, it doesn't matter. So what is this 'making up' you mentioned?" I asked. "Not here. You will see soon enough." He answered.
'Mysterious guy, that's what you are.' I thought.

(A/N) yaaaaay update. Don't know when the next one will be since I've got quite the schedule for this and next week, but I'll try to update a bit more regularly again.
