I immediately fetch Melissa as soon as I finished my duty. Now I am rushing going home. I have to take care another 'child' in the basement and it's making my life more complicated.

I immediately changed Melissa's clothes and settle her in front of the TV to watch her favorite cartoon show while playing with her toys.

"Melissa, mommy will just cook, Okay?"

"Okay."

"Do not open the door to anyone if someone knocks or ring the bell, understand?"

"Yes, mommy."

I prepare sandwich and milk for Melissa and I brought out the ingredients for dinner.

I gave Melissa her snack and I slowly sneak in the basement to bring food for Jeremy. I made sure that everything is close and my alarm are on before going down.

"Hi."

Jeremy smiled when he saw me going down. He approached me to get the juice and sandwich I prepared for him.

"How are you feeling?"

"Better when I saw you."

I just shook my head. He never changed. Still with his sweet tongue.

"Why did you shower without waiting for me?"

"Sorry, you did not tell me such rules exists. Do you need to shower with me?" he winks. I blushed. After few seconds I composed myself.

"I need to dress your wounds after you shower, jerk." I answer with irritation. He really knows how to piss me off.

"Hey lighten up will you. I am just trying to make you smile."

"It's not funny. Come on I will dress your wounds."

"Teach me how so that I can do it myself."

"I really don't intend to do all for you but you have some at your back that you can't reach."

I start changing his wound dressing when my phone alarmed of someone coming. Shit Melissa is alone up there. I switch on my phone and look at the camera outside. An unfamiliar black car park in front of the house. I run immediately up passing at the drawer where I took one gun.

The doorbell rings.

I look at the phone to see who is it but I don't know this person.

"Mommy?"

"Stay where you are baby. Do as I tell you."

I press the intercom to speak. "Yes, may I help you?"

"Mrs. Hamilton send me to you Ma'am. She wants to give you these gifts. I will leave it on the foyer." The tall guy answered. He put the bag on the foyer and I scanned it with my phone. Nothing suspicious.

"I will leave now Ma'am."

The man left and I see his car leave my premises.

The phone 'Mrs. Hamilton' which she gives us rings.

"Hello."

"Hello my dear. Please get my gift for you. You will need it." The familiar voice chimed on the phone.

"I thought you want your ass out of the situation. Why are you helping now?"

She chuckles. "I think you need my help. Your resources are low specially Jeremy is not in his own sense as of now."

She knows it's Jeremy by his name. Damn!

Usually our back up help during missions doesn't know who we really are.

"Yes, I know him my dear." Shit. This old woman is a psychic. "He knows me personally but he can't remember yet. I can't help you if I will take him with me. I can work through sidelines for both of you for your safety so please trust me. Bye."

I took the bag and bring it inside. I lock the door carefully and check on Melissa again. Good thing she is still busy watching cartoons.

I returned to the kitchen and I am startled to see Jeremy standing in front of me.

"Shit! What are you doing here?" I whisper and check on Melissa again.

"You forgot to close the door and I followed you. You might need my help."

"Stay low please. This is from your rich mother, Mrs. Hamilton."

"She's helping us?"

"Apparently."

"How did you know her contacts when you gave it to me?"

"That contact came from you yourself. We have codes....... as partners........ that only me and you know."

He nods. He walks and hide on the walls dividing the kitchen and living room where Melissa can't see him.

"She's the reason why you quitted?" he peeks at Melissa who is now laughing at her favorite cartoon show.

I sigh. "Yes."

I start preparing for dinner. I let Jeremy stay. I see him no threat as of now. He better knows things so that he will cooperate.

"Now I understand why this place is pretty wired up." He looks at the bag the man delivered.

He softly whistled as he saw lots of money in it and clothes with some high caliber guns. He showed me some passports and when he opened it he was stunned and showed it to me.

I was stunned to see passports intended for him, me.......and Melissa. Shit! She knows. I feel we are not safe anymore. This old woman is one or three steps ahead of me. I can't do anything but to trust her. If she means harm she could have killed me and Jeremy before. What is her purpose?

"I am sorry." Jeremy look at me with apologetic eyes. He noticed my uneasiness of the situation specially when it comes to Melissa.

"I know this will come." I busied myself in preparing dinner. "It's not your fault. I just don't know if made the correct decision of keeping Melissa with me."

I went to the ref to face my back to him. I don't want him to see my eyes. "But I can't let her be adopted."

A strong arm pulled me and hug me tight. I felt his lips on my head. "You are a strong woman Sandra. I admire you for that. Don't worry I try to sort things out. I will be gone soon."

I pulled away from him and shook my head. "It will not help Jeremy. Either you go or not it will be the same. Just stay until we sort things out. I have no choice but to trust the old woman and to trust you."

Then I looked at him with narrowed eyes. "But if something happens to my baby, I will definitely kill you. You understand?"

He smiled and shook his head. "Mother's instinct. I think you know me well, Sandra. We're supposed to be buddies before. I may not remember things as of now but deep inside me I know I don't intend to kill a child."

I just smiled and nod in agreement remembering how tough he is but soft hearted when it comes to children.

"I will go down now and close the door. If you have time maybe you can teach me a few things for the security of your daughter while I am here. I promise to protect you both as long as I live."

I see sincerity in his eyes.
