My review:

Where do I even begin on this book?! Going into this story I was a bit hesitant. Fantasy isn't a common genre of books that I read, so I had no idea how I was going to feel about it. It has left me speechless!

First off the prologue was exactly what a prologue should be. Most people will often treat it as another chapter. It is a bit of an introduction and gives the reader relevant information as well as a bit of an insight on what to expect. This author wrote this prologue FLAWLESSLY. After reading the prologue I was stoked to continue reading and move on to the first chapter.

"The last thing that could be heard was the crackling fires as it echoes off the stone walls of the town." Just that little description there is extraordinary.

It's difficult to write a review without revealing what happens in the story and spoiling. It is so much more than just magic. As I read through The Witching hour I found several twist that pretty much had me gasping. There were so many elements in this book that were just so unexpected, because of this the author does a great job on holding onto the readers attention. The question in chapter eleven, I felt, changed everything drastically, but in a very good way.

I especially loved the reunion. I thought that it was just a very sweet moment. I also really adored the relationship between Avalonna, Conner, and Lydia. Every single character was well developed and was significant to the story, which is how it should be.

Lastly I would like to comment on the format. I seriously fell in love with this formatting. When doing various point of views, it's common that your reading the book in first person. This wasn't the case. It was definitely different considering it was in third person and I enjoyed it. By doing this it allows you to get a little closer to the characters rather than bluntly focusing on one character while writing in third.

I was actually sad when I came to the end and it wasn't completed. There's just so much to this story and again, its not just magic, witches, and warlocks. There's a bit of everything in it for all the fantasy lovers. This book is definitely worth checking out.
