I opened the package I received in the mail that read
Carina Salvador
It was as big as a textbook and felt like a bunch of tiny pieces were held inside.
I ripped open the top of the pack and pulled out an eyebrow kit and some brushes. "Yes they came!"
I had recently ordered some things online for a banquet I was going to.
I worked at Home Efficiency in Brownsberg California. I was a real estate agent and I was going to the promotion banquet with my boss Kim Evanston.
The banquet was the next day so I needed to prepare the best I could.
I got my hair deep conditioned, straightened, voluminous, and I added hair extensions. I made sure all of my garments were prepared and my bag was packed.
It was going to be a big day.
I would be meeting some of the most important people in the field. Some of my future co-workers, bosses and if I'm lucky, employees and assistants.
It was the time that my impression actually mattered.

"Miss Salvador, This is my partner, Mrs. Kel."
I placed my hand out and gave it a nice grasped shake.
"It's a pleasure to meet you." I smiled, realising the shake.
"As for you, you look beautiful! How old are you again?"

"25." I smiled.
"Wow, so young and mature to be in the field. Can I get you ladies some tea?"
"Please." Evanston nodded.
The lady walked away, leaving Kim and I alone.
"Oh, have you met my fiance?"
"No, I haven't."
"Oh, Jack honey!" She called out.
Immediately, my tongue fell to my stomach. My skin immediately got goosebumps. Oh come on Carina! She could be talking about someone else.
Nope.
It was Jack, Gilinsky.
I began feeling less of a woman when he came over and kissed Kim on the forehead, then looked at me.
"Well, whose this?" He asked her.
Is he fucking serious? Maybe he is trying to make it less awkward???
"This is my assistant, and my top employee Carina Salvador."
"Hello, Miss Salvador." He reached his hand out.
"Please, just call me Carina." I fake smiled and grit through my teeth. I turned to Kim. "I'm gonna go get some tea."
"Oh no honey, Kel went to get us some."
Shit.
I nodded, "oh right."
"So, Miss Salvador, how is business?"
"Boomin, you?"
"Great actually, I sold 4 houses last week." Jack smiled and kissed Kim. Kim giggled.
Fuck I wanted to throw up.
"Oh that's great news!" I smiled looking for Kel.
"So, Salvador... What do you work for?"
I laughed kind of. "Mrs. Evanston."
"Mrs?" Jack smiled and looked at Kim. "If she was Mrs. anything it would be Gilinsky." He snorted with concern.
Kim's face became cold with fear. Almost like nausea.
"She means Ms. " she smiled.
"Oh no, your name plate says Mrs. at the office." I rebelled.
"Oh Miss Salvador..... Please, tell him what you work for. "
"No, no.... Why does it still say Mrs, Kim?" Jack became stern.
"I haven't had time to change it, it isn't that big of a deal."
Jack shifted and let go of her shoulder.
Saved by the Bell, Kel came back with our tea.
"Oh, if I would've known, I would've brought Mr. Gilinksy a tea as well."
"No problem Kel, I prefer coffee any who."
"Are you sure you wouldn't want my tea? I can go make some more."
"It'll be okay, Kel, really."
She smiled and fixed her skirt.
"Well, I'll let you all catch up."
She walked away and I spoke up.
"I work for Home Efficiency.... You?"
"Kaldok Homing." He nodded.
I thought it would be nice to play around with their relationship for a second. Just because I'm jealous like that.
"Well, why don't you work with Home Efficiency with your fiancée ?"
"Well it isn't ideal to work with your bed buddy." Jack responded
"Oh? I could've sworn she used to work with some one named.....M something Evanston." I ignorantly spoke.
Both of their eyes grew big, Jacks filled with anger and Kim filled with fear.
"It was really nice meeting you, Salvador. But Kim and I must get going now." Jack pulled her arm and they vanished before my eyes.
