The soft hum of her skateboard's wheels, and the wind in her hair was pure ecstasy. Jana had never felt more at peace with herself, she felt as if time itself had frozen over, and that she was the only one in the world that had complete control over herself. Everything felt quiet, it was as if all her worries were closed off at the back of her mind, and the only thing that mattered was her board and the direction of the wind.
With a swift shift in her position, Jana manoeuvred her skateboard around a corner, and came to an abrupt stop.
"Park, or home?" She asked herself. Her soft, uniquely colored, magenta eyes flickered across two separate paths. People had always asked her about her eyes, and whether she wore contacts, but she would just shake her head with an honest "no." She knew her eyes were different, but that's just how she was born. Her mother would always tell her that she had talent written in her eyes, but Jana didn't believe it. It was her mother after all, she had to say that.
Jana began to hum to herself as she thought between her choices, she could continue straight and go home, or she could cross one street over and head to the skate park. Knowing fully well that her mother wouldn't be home till late, she decided to head to the park for a few hours. "Park it is," she stated to herself as her eyes perked up. She then slammed her foot to the ground, and propelled herself towards her second home, the skate park.

Jana spent the next few hours riding ramps, and grinding rails before she decided to call it quits. If it weren't for the quickening of the darkened sky and the beginning of street lamps flickering to life, she would have probably stayed out longer. Unfortunately for her, she still had a curfew to abide, even if her mother wasn't due home till later.
Just as she kicked up her board, and was about to leave the park, she heard an unfamiliar voice over the all too familiar sound of wheels grinding against the pavement. She hadn't realized that there was other people here. Jana was just going to take her board and head home, but her curiosity got the better of her, and she found that she couldn't stop her feet from carrying her towards the nearby presence.
"Yeah, boyyyy, look at me go!!" An excited voiced chirped out. Jana took a quick peek at the mysterious skateboarder, when suddenly a flash of orange whizzed right by her unknowing figure. She dropped her board with a gasp as her hand flew towards her beating heart.
"Oh, geez, I'm so sorry, dudette! I didn't see you there," an apologetic, boyish voice offered only moments after.
"I-it's fine," she said, still a bit shaken up.
"Man, and I made you drop your board." The boy sighed exasperatedly. He quickly marched up to her and snatched up the board, then he held it out to the young girl with an apologetic grin spread across his green, freckled cheeks. Wait, green?
Jana took a double take on the boy's appearance, before letting her jaw drop in disbelief. The boy seemed confused, before the girl's reaction finally kicked in.
"Oooh, riiight..." He muttered to himself, mentally slapping himself square in the face.
"You're, you're an alien??" The girl asked with a mix of shock and confusion.
"Oh, god, no!" He immediately responded. "You're probably not going to believe this, but I'm a mutant, ninja turtle! The name's Mikey by the way," he quickly added with a wink.
Jana blinked quickly, then straight up burst into fits of laughter. Mikey seemed a bit confused by her laughter, but ended up chuckling along with her. Jana took her long forgotten board from the strange mutant's outstretched hand, then began to wipe under her eyes.
"Thanks," she said with smile.
"No problemo, dudette!" He smiled, then continued with, "sorry I scared the shell off of you..." Jana raised an eyebrow at his aphorism, but figured it had something to do with his.. Species.
"Don't worry about it," she said with a small laugh. "Sorry I freaked... I'm not usually one to lose it." She continued with embarrassment cleary written on her face.
"Naah, I'd do the exact thing if I were in your situation. Well, I'd probably think that I was cute and charming, but that's just me." He ended with a cheeky grin. Jana couldn't help but let out a girlish giggle. Oh, god, how she hated letting her girly side loose. Mikey seemed to take that as a sign to keep 'flirting,' so he once again sent a wink her way. He may be a turtle, Jana thought, but he sure knew how to talk a girl up. Dammit.
"You so this often," Jana chuckled.
"Not really.. I'm not really supposed to talk to humans." Mikey said with sad eyes. Of course, Jana. Duh!
"Oh, right, sorry!"
"No worries, dudette!" Mikey said with a quick flip of his mood, and a toothy grin. Jana smiled at his quick demeanor. "Hey, since I got you to laugh, I guess that means you owe me your number?" He said with another wink.
"Oh, really? Not only did you scare the crap out of me, but you made me drop my beloved board... I'm pretty sure that makes us even," Jana said with a bemused snort. Mikey had a gleam in his eyes that showed Jana that he wasn't about to give up just yet.
"Oh, I see. Well, from all of that, I say that I atleast owe you a date before we break even." The freckled teen said with yet another one of his signature winks. Jana couldn't stop the blush that spread across her fair skin. Mikey grinned once more, knowing fully well that he one this little verbal battle. The orange clad turtle pulled out a slip of paper from a non-existent pocket, and secretively pressed it into the girl's hand. "Don't lose it, okay?" Mikey chuckled lightly, and skated off into the night before giving her one last wink.
Jana looked off into the distance where, her new friend, Mikey skated off into, before looking down at the crumpled slip of paper between her fingers. It was.. His number! "Pffft... Someone's over confident. What makes him think I'm going to call?" Jana knew fully well that she would be calling Mikey, if not on the same night.

Here it is!!! I know it's been so long since I last updated, but I hope this story was worth it!
I had a lot of fun writing this one, aswell! I actually wrote this story twice! The first time I wrote it, it was completely different! Since my computer ended up breaking down, and my updates were on said computer, I wasn't able to post anything for a while! On top of that, all of my files weren't able to be saved! So, I ended up rewriting this one, but I do have to say, I like this version a lot better than my first one!
I have one more update after this one, and I'll try to work on it ASAP!
Thank you for all of the requests, reads, likes, and comments! It makes me so happy knowing that people actually like my writing! So, thank you!
