Chapter Nine

So this Chapter includes the end of the first term and because of that I'll try to make it longer than all the rest. It's getting increasingly harder for the story to come naturally to me that's why it takes me so long to update chapters but I was determined to stay up and finish it so I could put it up tonight. Anyway, this Chapter has Draco and Harry moments before the Drarry moment at the end so don't be disappointed at the opening, ok? ^_^ Btw, thanks guys: 4,000+ reads and 100+ votes is a big deal for me. I hoped but never expected anyone to really like this story that much as I had started it as a fanfic for the fans on my small facebook page: "we are gryffindors/ demigods" (which, btw, you should take a minute to search for and LIKE...thanks!). Chapter Nine

Where the other months had sped by, November crawled slowly on. Everything and everyone was carrying on as usual as if Harry's encounter with Draco had never happened. And that was one thing that puzzled Harry because in his mind, he had put off that night's happenings as an elaborate prank by Malfoy and his Slytherin friends aimed at humiliating him so they could spread it around the whole school. Confirmation that the Chosen One was indeed gay and all the time he'd just been pretending. But other than the usual stares and few points and whispers his way everything was....normal. 

Harry didn't know what to think. If it really hadn't been a prank, that means it had been real and that wasn't Harry something wanted to even consider. Was Malfoy actually gay then? Could he truly be attracted to Harry? Was that even possible? If all this time Draco had liked Harry, why had he treated him so horribly? Was it a recent thing then? And why did he, Harry, even care about it? Shouldn't he be trying as much as possible to forget the incident? He had so many questions and no answers. The only one who could answer most of them was either ignoring him in private or sneering at him in public even more than ever before. 

Harry tried to tell himself he didn't care, after all Malfoy and he had never been friends. But he DID care, terribly. He'd been given a glimpse in the past month of what Draco could be like when he wasn't being rude and even though he'd found it a little creepy, especially when Malfoy acted completely different in front of everyone else, he'd liked it and found that he missed it. It had been...nice. 

The change in Draco caused Harry to think back to that night at the Astronomy Tower. Could it be that Draco had actually been sincere for once in his life and now was hurt by Harry's rejection? But Draco Malfoy didn't do hurt, did he? Harry couldn't help remembering how shattered he had looked when Harry had shoved him away. But what did it all matter anyway? Even if Draco's feelings were genuine Harry couldn't return them. For one thing, he wasn't gay or bi or whatever (but you kissed him back, said a voice in his head); for another, even if he was (which he wasn't, was he?), Malfoy's family were Death Eaters, followers of Voldemort. It was clear which side Draco would be joining once he was old enough to be recruited and he wouldn't think twice about it too.  

There was still one huge unresolved question floating in his mind, though and Harry tried to be as honest as possible when answering it. What was he: straight, gay or both? He'd never thought about it before because it'd never been that important but he would know if he was attracted to guys, wouldn't he? The only time he'd ever liked anyone was in his fourth and fifth year. Cho. He HAD really liked her, he hadn't been pretending so did that make him bisexual? Since that night with Malfoy, Harry had tried to discreetly check out every boy he met but they did nothing for him. He wasn't attracted to any of them. However, whenever Malfoy was in the room, he felt like he was burning up with need, his breathing kicked up a notch and he couldn't keep his eyes away from the blonde boy for long. Harry was so confused.
