Under Edd's Hat

A Day Inside

  Edd awoke with a jolt. He stumbled out of bed fully dressed, and ran for the bathroom door. Once he was inside he fell to his knees and heaves into the toilet. His head was pounding and his body ached.
   Eddy leaned against the door frame. "Good morning sunshine. This is what we call a hangover. I hope you had fun. Unfortunately, in your.. Condition, it's going to be a lot worse. We'll grab a jug of water on the way to the diner. Take a shower first, you stink." Eddy pinched his nose for effect and Edd rolled his eyes in response. Edd took off his sweat soaked clothes and hopped into the shower.
   Once he got out, he decided on a brown Carheart beanie and a blue jean jacket with the same brand. He threw on some Levi's and a long sleeved dark blue Tshirt and his boots.
   "Oh Eddward, you look like such a man!"
 
    "Shut up, Eddy. They are warm and comfortable."
  Eddy smirked and Messsed with his brown Mohawk and grabbed his keys.  He threw on his khakis and His college sweater with Hurkey the Hawkeye on it.
  Eddy and Edd hopped into the truck and headed to their destination. "How was last night Edd? I can't believe you got drunk. And from what I could smell, stoned! You're going all out."
   "I'm going to make the rest of my life a party, Eddy. I'm going all out. Going to take risks, and get what I want. I'm still going to study, of course. It just makes me... Happy. Sane."
   "Ooohh what is it that you want, Edd? Is it a certain red headed asshole down the hall?" Eddy wiggled his eyebrows and edd returned with a glare.
  Edd pulled into the parking lot and headed inside. "You really do look like shit. You're lucky Arvilla isn't here. She woul-"
  "MY SWEET BABY CHILD! Eddmond?! What did you DO to my love?!"
  "Stop calling me that! He's fine"
   "I'm really ok. Just a little hungover.  I- Umph!"
   Arvilla embraced Edd, and even though she's 6 foot to Edd's 5'10, she man handled him and shoved his face into her bossom.
   "Arvilla, I am not sad. I do not need a sad person hug. Remove my face at once."
  She patted his hat and released him. "Are you sure? Would you like me to go and give you a hangover cure of sausage and greasy hashbrowns with Orange juice? And gulp some water. I don't want you to  get sick and pass out."
  "Hey I'm sad! Where's my sad person hug?"
   "Fuck off Eddy. I know you did this to him! My poor baby!"
   "Dear, you are the same age as me. Quit acting like my mother."
   She put on a hurt face and huffed away.
   "So spill. What happened last night? You came home pretty late. Did you make any headway with Shovel Chin?"
  Edd told him everything that happened last night, up to Kevin leaving.
   "That. Fucking. Tease. That got me hot and bothered and I like the ladies! Did you make any plans with him?"
  "Plans with who?" Arvilla placed down the plates and put her hands on her hips. "That hunk of man from last night?"
  "Hon, why do you have dark circles under your eyes? Did you go home? You're going to work yourself to death."
   "I picked up an extra shift. 16 hours for me! I need to save up so I can start attending college next semester. Then I'll switch to part time. At least Jeremy is letting me room with him. Saves me some money. I wasn't blessed with the brains or mula like two. Don't worry! I will be fine and dandy. Go and eat. And don't forget to tip your waitress!" She smiled and skipped off.
  "We haven't made plans. I'm still not sure. Maybe he was just being polite so he wouldn't hurt my feelings." Edd sighed and looked out the window. It was snowing again, and it seemed like it was going to be a while before it stopped. "Let's turn on netflix. Or I can help you with homework when we get home."
  "I've actually had quite a bit of free time and have been keeping up. I'm ahead in a few classes."
   "Really? I'm very proud of you! I'm happy I could be of assistance!"
   "Don't. Don't turn into bitter Edd again. You can't do this to me every time you find an opening."
  "I wasn't being bitter. I was making a joke. I do that now. I'm getting cool."  Edd pursed his lips and squinted his eyes while bobbing his head back and fourth.
   "Shut up and eat, Sockhead. You don't just become cool over night. Unless you were born with it, as I was."  He put his hand to his chest and Fluttered his eyelashes. That caused Double D to errupt in a fit of laughter. Eddy pouted then focused on his food, and Edd did the same.
