A/N: Nat belongs to C2ndy2C1d.
My brain has other thoughts on what to do. And I kinda squeeled off the road and crashed into a new train of thought. Gah. Updates will be slower from now on.

Kevin woke up and Gently woke up Edd. "Babe. We need to get ready. I'll drive you to the hospital. Pack some clothes and a toothbrush and other necessities. I need to head back to my room real quick and get ready."
Edd sleepily mumbled and tried to grab Kevin as he got up and pouted when he failed. Kevin chuckled and headed out the door.
Kevin walked down the hall, and paused with his hand on the door knob as he heard rustling in his room. He opened the door and gasped as he saw Nat getting ready for the day.
"Hey hot stuff. Missed me?" Nat winked and Kevin ran into the room and pushed Nat against the wall.
"I did for the first few months. No fucking explanation, no note, no goodbye. You just fucking LEFT, Nat. Was I just a fucking game to you?"
Nat chuckled and pushed Kevin off of him. "No sweetheart. You were a lovely time, though. I saw you at the diner last night. You weren't that broken hearted to move on, I see."
Kevin was slack jawed as he looked at his ex lover. "You were there? But.. I didn't.."
"Arvilla helped me get the job. We took classes together before. I told her I was moving back and she helped me get the job as a chef over the weekend. I was going to say hello, but you seemed...preoccupied."
Kevin ran his fingers through his hair in frustration, "What did you want me to do? Wait forever, not knowing the outcome?" He spat through gritted teeth.
"Isn't that what you're doing right now?" Kevin swung at Nat after the comment. Nat caught his fist and twisted it, causing a yelp of pain from Kevin. "It hurts you because you know I'm right" Nat growled.
Kevin got out of Nat's grip and sat on the bed. "I never thought of it that way."
"And you probably wouldn't. Listen, I understand it's over between us. I haven't exactly been faithful, either. I still don't want you to get hurt."
"But Edd's worth it."
"Is he? You're making that assumption over a mere week? Or do you just feel bad because a man is dying and the only thing you can do is love him until his final days?"
Kevin flinched as reality hit him. "I'm his nurse, Nat. I'm doing everything I can."
"Oh, well why didn't you say so in the first place?" Nat hissed. "What, do you think this is, a chick flick? Do you think he's going to bounce back out of nowhere? HE'S NOT, KEVIN."
"FUCK YOU NAT!" Kevin leapt at Nat and driving him to the ground. As each punch got weaker, his sobs shook his body more. Nat pushed Kevin off and looked down at him.
"Always the hopeless romantic. I can be here as a friend for you now, but don't expect me to be your personal therapist later!" He said through swollen lips.
Nat left, slamming the door behind him and Kevin pulled himself together. He got ready and went out to the hallway to see Nat leaning against the wall, speaking with Edd. He calmly walked up to them and took his place Next to Edd.
"I was wondering where you roomate was. Paris! How fascinating! I bet you were very happy for him to persue his dreams to further his career!"
"He didn't exactly tell me he was leaving."
Nat smirked and pushed off from the wall. "How long will you be bitter? Hey-Nice to meet the new object of Kevin's desire, Double Delectable. Holla when you get bored." Nat winked amd spun around, leaving a confused Edd, and a fuming Kevin, behind.

They arrived at the Hospital on Kevin's bike with Edd's belongings in a backpack. Kevin buckled their helmets to his saddle bags and they both Headed inside. Kevin walked over to the Nurses station and clocked in.
"Hey! Feeling better?" Nancy smiled as she greeted Kevin. He gave her a kind smile and followed her down the Hallway.
"Whew are ya' ready, Kids! This will be it, Edd! I know it! You'll leave this hospital cancer free!" Nancy squeeled as she prepared all of his Iv's for his 3 day long journey. "Now sweetheart, this won't be like your other treatments. This will be a little more painful. We'll take care of you. But the second this becomes too much, let us know and we'll numn the pain."
Edd smiled. "I will be fine, Nancy. I'm sure of it. It can't be any worse than it's been."
Nancy smiled with just her mouth this time, while her eyes were filled with worry. "That's my trooper." She whispered. She reached up and slipped his hat off, the last of his own clothes he wore, as the others were replaced with a hospital gown. "We're going to put some extra fluids in ya, to prevent the cells bursting open and causing AML. But that's a rare case. This treatment will only last 3 days. Then we will take more tests to see how your body is reacting."
Kevin was about to slip a needle in Edd's arm when they were interrupted by the doctor walking in. "Eddward. Excuse me, can we be alone for a bit. Go ahead and stay, Nancy. Kevin, you're dismissed."
Kevin looked at all 3 of them with a questioning look as he left the room. He waited for a half hour before Nancy walked out first, and headed straight out of the Hospital doors.
Kevin followed her to make sure she's ok. She sighed and lit up a cigarette. "Nancy, what are you doing?"
"A bad habit. Don't you start!" She leaned her head back as tears filled her eyes. "He meant to call in Edd over the weekend, but he didn't answer."
Kevin looked at her, puzzled. He urged her to continue. "Why? Nancy, what happened. " It was a statement, because regrettably he already knew the answer.
"They did another test Friday. Just a precaution. They found out that Edd's body wouldn't be able to handle this treatment in his body's condition without holding on to his life by a thread. So the doctor gave Edd two options. 1. To go on with the treatment, and risk it all, knowing his days would be shortened even more so. Or 2. Enjoy Quality of life."
Kevin couldn't help but panic. "He chose one, right? There's still a chance he can ma-"
"One thing you will learn, boy, is that a patient will always choose quality. You can't get attatched, Kevin. And I may be old, but I'm not stupid. Anyone can see a mile away what's going on between you two. And you're lucky I found out that it happened before you became his nurse and it was his fault. You're suspended for the next 3-8 months from work. Take it as a blessing I didn't fire you. Now go home." Kevin slid down the wall as Nancy went inside. He numbly got up after a couple of minutes and he grabbed Edd before heading home.
Once home, they sat inside Edd's room and were quiet, either not a word to say.
