Edd woke up on Friday, Excited for the upcoming adventure to Rolf's farm. Eddy and him walked down to the parking lot, ready to go to his last set of chemo before Monday. He searched the parking lot for Kevins bike, but it was nowhere to be seen. Was he working today? He hoped so. He hasn't seen or heard from Kevin since Wednesday night. He felt like there was a void without Kevin.
They hopped into the truck and Eddy warmed it up for a few minutes. "He will come around, Edd. Don't worry. You have to give him some time. It hit him all at once."
Edd looked out the window and listened to the song Possibility by Lykke Le.

Just tell me when you here my heart, Stop.
Because you're the only one I need

Edd leaned back as he absorbed every word. Each one pricking away at his heart until Finally, they arrived at the Hospital.
They walked in and were greeted by Nancy. "Are ya'll ready? Just me today. My Prodigy to took today off to go home spend time with his family before next week. Poor boy."
Edd looked down in shame as he shuffled to the room where other patients were recieving their treatment as well. Nancy hooked him up to his treatment through his port and left. Eddy scooted up a chair and leaned his head against his hand. "Since Ed and I won't be here all next week, Ed wants to see you go through a treatment. I hope that's ok." Edd nodded, and shortly after Ed walked in. He looked at Double D, and his eyes were as wide as saucers.
"Does it hurt?"
Double D laughed Ironically. It seemed to be peoples go to question. "No, not anymore, Ed."
"Lemme get a better looksy!"
Double D rolled his eyes and pulled his shirt down so Ed could see the port.
"Wow, Double D! It looks like you have a button!"
Edd laughed. "I suppose it does. I decided To have it Externally mounted so it will be easier to heal with it so close to next week. I still might have a little trouble. So we have to be careful this weekend. I don't heal as easily as you two."
Ed nodded, determined. "I will be your protector."
They all turned when they heard giggling in another chair. There was an older woman, With a sash wrapped around her head. "You would get a kick out of mine." She pulled down her shirt a little to reveal a port that was underneath her skin.
"Woah! It looks like you have an alien under your skin!" Ed said. She laughed harder, clenching her chest.
"Well my goodness, It sure is nice to laugh. My name is Mona." She smiled and reached out her hand. They all introduced themselves and Edd scooted closer to Mona, telling her stories about the shows he watched about aliens, and all of his theories. Ed smiled as he watched them interact.
"I'm glad he came here. It's been a while since I've seen her smile." Double D said. Eddy smiled and nodded.
"Lumpy is kinda like a lab puppy, Huh?"

They all left together (Ed got an Uber there) and went to their dorm rooms to pack. "Pack some warm things, Ed. And something Nice, too! Maybe we will go out. Grab all your hats just in case. We'll grab some munchies for the ride, and-"
"Eddy! Calm down! I would have thought Ed would be more excited than you!"
"I'm just happy you're goin' is all! It will be a great time. Just you wait!"
Edd gave Eddy a puzzled look and they headed out the door with their bags. Ed was already waiting by the truck, Anxiously bouncing up and down. "HURRY TO THE CHICKENS, EDDY!"
They threw their bags in the truck bed and Eddy tied them down and throwed a tarp over them just in case it snowed on their 2 hour ride to Rolf's farm. Double D hopped in the middle and Ed and Eddy got on either side of him. He preferred to sit in the middle now because it just had a lap belt, and he didn't want to snag his port. They all eagerly chatted and listened to some upbeat music as they were on the road.

They finally arrived on the gravel road. Double D could barely wait. He needed a weekend away. He wanted to keep his mind off the negative. To keep it off of Kevin.
He noticed Eddy nervously grip the steering wheel and quickly glanced at his phone. "Eddy! I have enough to worry about, please don't risk all of our lives and keep your eyes on the road. Here, I'll check it fo-"
"No! It's fine. I'll keep my eyes on the road. Promise." Double D raised and eyebrow at Eddy and shrugged. Maybe he forgot which turn to take next.
Another 10 minutes and they turned left on a road surrounded by pine trees covered in snow. It was almost breathetaking. The trees broke off and they saw Rolf's two story house, barn, and a field for cattle. It was almost picture perfect.
"Rolf's new place he acquired is beautiful! He's really doing well for himself!"
As they parked they saw a bundled Rolf walk up to the truck, swinging the door open and pulling Eddy out. "Ed boys! I am hapoy you have arrived! Quick, it's about to storm and Rolf needs help getting things ready!"
Rolf grabbed all of their bags with Ed's help, and Eddy turned to Double D. "Go ahead and take a walk around. We can handle it. When we get inside we can put on some movies and drink something warm. Go and Enjoy yourself, Edd."
Double D smiled gratefully and walked through the snow. He was hapoy he got to explore around by himself for a bit. It was a good time to think, and to absorb the beauty. It was so peaceful. He went back behind the house and sat on a concrete bench, gently wiping off the snow. He suspected in the spring time it was a garden. Barren branches halo-ed the bench and it's surroundings, almost blocking out the sky. Edd would love to see it in the spring. He made a mental note that he would have to witness the garden in full bloom, even if it were one of the last things he did.
He shook his head, getting rid of the thought. He didn't want to think about his cancer and the possible outcome anymore. He just wanted to be happy. He needed to. He leaned up and his eyes were covered quickly by gloved hands.
"Ed! Eddy? Stop this nonsense!" He giggled and was scooped up, an arm underneath the back of his legs and his back against the person's chest. He felt himself being carried. "Well I know this isn't Eddy! Ed? Rolf? What are you doing?" After a few silent minutes, he was gently stood up. Edd laughed out of excitement and curiosity. He opened his eyes.
