Meanwhile in the castle in Canterlot, a pegasai pony who looks like Rainbow Dash, only with rainbow colored mane named Rainbow Blitz or as everypony calls him Sonic Rainboom flew to the roof of the castle while his associates named Flim and Flam teleported themselves there with their magic. Sonic Rainboom looked at Ponyville from the roof, and said "Wow! I could get used to a view like this!" "Rainboom! Come on!" Flim said. "Hold on." Sonic Rainboom said. "Yup! I'm used to it!. Bronies, I want a castle. "We do this job, and you can buy your own castle." Flam said. Sonic Rainboom used his wings to lower himself down to get the silver crown with rainbow jewels on it which was guarded by four pony guards. One of the pony guards suddenly sneezed. "Hay fever?" Sonic Rainboom asked as placed the crown in his brown bag. "Yeah." The pony guard said. He suddenly realized there has been an intruder as he said "Huh?" Sonic Rainboom then flew outside as the guard said "Hey, wait! Hey, wait!" As Sonic Rainboom, Flim, and Flam ran from the castle because the guards were coming to get them, Sonic Rainboom said "Can't you picture me in a castle of my own? Cause, I certainly can! All the things we've seen, and it's only eight in the morning! Gentlecolts, this is a very big day!"

Back at the tower, Rainbow Dash was putting the paint away in a blue box as she said "This is it. This is a very big day, Spike!" "You mean?" Spike asked. "Hmm-mm. I'm finally gonna do it. I'm gonna ask her!" Then she heard Rarity's voice that said "Rainbow Dash! Let down your mane!" Rainbow Dash gasped and said "It's time!" "Ok, let's do this! I'm excited!" Spike said. "I know, I know, come on, don't let her see you!" Rainbow Dash said as Spike nodded, and blended into Rainbow Dash's painting. "Rainbow Dash, I'm not getting any younger down here, darling!" Rarity who wore a blue cape with a hood on it, and carried a brown basket called out. "Coming, mother!" Rainbow Dash said as she placed her mane on a hook, and lowers the rest of it down. Rarity held onto the mane, and tugged it, signaling Rainbow Dash to pull her up. Rainbow Dash pulled her mother up, and said "Hi. Welcome home, mother." "Uh, Rainbow Dash! How do you manage to do that every single day without fail!" Rarity said looking at her daughter. "It looks absolutely exhausting, darling." "Oh, it's nothing." Rainbow Dash said smiling. "Then I don't know why it takes so long!" Rarity said in a teasing voice. She looked at Rainbow Dash's frown, and laughed as she said "Darling, I'm just teasing.

Rainbow Dash chuckled a little as Rarity went up to a mirror, and said "Alright. So, mother, as you know, tomorrow is a very big day-." Rarity interrupted her, and said "Rainbow Dash, look in that mirror." Rainbow Dash looked at her reflection as Rarity said "You know what I see? I see a strong, confident, beautiful young mare." Rainbow Dash smiled, but then she frowned when Rarity said "Oh, look! You're here too!" She laughed and said "I'm just teasing, darling! Stop taking everything so seriously." Rainbow chuckled a little, and said "Okay, so mother, as I was saying, tomorrow-." "Rainbow Dash, mother's feeling a little run-down." Rairty said, interrupting her daughter again. "Would you sing for me, dear? That'll do," "Oh! Of, course, mother!" Rainbow Dash said as she sat on a stool. Rarity grabbed a pink manebrush, and sat down at her chair. Rainbow Dash sang the healing song at a fast pace, and Rarity quickly brush her glowing mane. "Rainbow Dash!" Rarity said feeling irritated as Rainbow Dash finished singing.

"So, mother, earlier I was saying tomorrow's a pretty big day and you didn't respond, so I'm just gonna tell you, it's my birthday!" Rainbow Dash said sitting next to her mother. "Uh, tada!" Rarity shook her head, and said "No, no, no, can't be. I distinctly remember your birthday was last year." "That's the funny thing about birthdays, they're kind of an annual thing!" Rainbow Dash said smiling. "Uh, mother, I'm turning eighteen, and I wanted to ask, uh, what I really want for this birthday. Actually what I really want for my birth, want for my birth-." Rarity became a little irritated when Rainbow Dash's speech trailed off into a mumble, and said "Okay, Rainbow Dash, please, stop with the mumbling. You know how I feel about the mumbling-blah, blah, blah, blah, it's very annoying." She then laughed and said "I'm just teasing. You're adoreable, I love you very much, darling." As Rarity got up from her chair, and went over to her basket, Rainbow Dash looked at Spike who urged her to say it. "I want to see the floating lights." Rainbow Dash said as Rarity picked up an apple. When Rarity heard what her daughter said, she froze, and placed the apple back into her basket. "Uh-huh. What?" She asked.

Rainbow Dash took a deep breath, and said "Well, I was hoping you could take me to see the floating lights." "Ooh. You mean the stars." Rairty said. "That's the thing!" Rainbow Dash said as she show her mother the chart of the stars. "I've charted the stars and they're always constant." She then showed her the painting she made, and said "But these, they appear every year on my birthday, mother. ONLY on my birthday. And I can't help feel like they're...they're meant for me. I need to see them, mother, and not just from my window. Up close, and personal. I have to know what they are. "You want to go outside?" Rarity asked as she closed the shutters. "Why Rainbow Dash, look at yourself, as fragile as a flower. Still a little sapling, just a sprout. Why, you know why we stay up in this tower." "I know, but-." Rainbow Dash tried to say, but Rarity interrupted her, and said "That's right. To keep you safe and sound, darling." As she pulled the window curtains shut, she said "I always knew this day was coming. That soon you would want to leave the nest soon, but not yet." "But-!" Rainbow Dash tried to say, but Rairty stopped her, and said "Trust me, darling. Mother knows best."

Rarity closed the sun roof, leaving them in the darkness, and she lit up the candles. "Now listen to your mother, because it's a scary world out there." She said. "Something will go wrong, I swear. Ruffians, thugs, poison ivy, quicksand, cannibals, snakes, the plauge, large bugs, and ponies with pointy teeth." "No!" Rainbow Dash yelled out. "Yes!" Rarity said. "Take from me, darling. On your own, you won't survive. Sloppy, immature, clumsy, please! They'll eat you up alive! Gullible, naive, grubby, ditzy, a bit vague, and I believe you are getting kind of chubby." "What?" Rainbow Dash asked. "I'm just saying cause I love you. Mother understands, and she's here to help you. All I have is one request." Rainbow Dash hugged Rarity, and then Rarity said "Rainbow Dash?" "Yes?" Rainbow Dash said. "Never ask to leave this tower again." Rarity said. Rainbow Dash sighed, and said "Yes, mother." Rarity smiled and said "I love you very much, darling." "I love you more." Rainbow Dash said. "I love you most." Rarity said, and kissed Rainbow Dash's forehead. "Don't forget it, or you'll regret it. Mother knows best, after all." She pulled the window curtains open, and opened the shutters. Rainbow Dash lowered Rarity down to the ground outside, and Rarity said "I'll see you in a bit my flower!" "I'll be here." Rainbow Dash said. After Rarity left, Rainbow Dash left her mane hanging and flowing as she looked on with a look of disappointment on her face.
