My Little Tangled

Chapter 5

Sonic Rainboom flew out of the tower, and landed on the ground below him as he said "You coming, blondie?" Rainbow Dash and Spike stood on the window edge, and looked down. "Wow, look at that, Spike." Rainbow Dash said. "Look at the world, so close, and I'm halfway to it!" "Yeah!" Spike said. "Look at it all! It's so big!" Rainbow Dash said. "Do I even dare? I mean, look at me, there at last! I just I have to do it! Should I?" She then shook her head, and said "No. Here I go!" Spike jumped on Rainbow Dash's back, and said "Ready!" Rainbow Dash smiled, and flew out the window. She flew to the ground, but stopped just an inch above the grass. She slowly landed on the grass, and smiled when she felt how soft it was. She sniffed, and said "Just smell the grass and dirt! Just like I dreamed they'd me." Spike got off of Rainbow Dash, and stepped on the grass. "It is soft!" He said. Rainbow Dash suddenly felt the wind blowing on her mane, and said "Just feel the summer breeze, and the way it's calling me!" She ran to to catch the dandylion weeds blowing, and she suddenly stepped in a small pond. She smiled, and splashed in the water as she said "For like the first time ever, I'm completely free!" Then she started to run to the tunnel with Spike and Sonic Rainboom following her as she said "I could go running, and racing, and dancing, and chasing, and leaping, and flying all day, and that's then my life begins!"

She ran out of the tunnel, and said "I can't believe I did this!" She gasped in fear, and said "I can't believe I did this." She got excited, and said "I can't believe I did this!" She then laughed a little, but then gasped, and said "Mother would be so furious." At another small pond, she looked at a lillypad, and said "That's okay! I mean, what she doesn't know won't kill her, right?" In a small cave, Sonic Rainboom stood outside as Rainbow Dash fearfully muttered "Oh my gosh, this would kill her!" Later on, she jumped onto a pile of leaves that had fallen onto the ground as she said "This is so fun!" Then she went up to a tree, and leaned her head against the bark as she muttered "I am a horrible daughter. I'm going back." Later, she rolled down a hill as she said "I am never going back!" She got wrapped up in her mane as she giggled. Later, she lay face-down on a bed of flowers as she muttered "I am a despicable little pony." Later, Sonic Rainboom just leaned against a tall tree as Rainbow Dash flew in circles around it as she said "Woo-hoo! Best. Day. EVER!" Later, she sat down near a big rock as she cried her eyes out. Sonic Rainboom approached the sobbing mare, cleared his throat, and said "You know, I can't help but notice you seem a little at war with yourself here." Rainbow Dash sniffed a little as she looked at him, and said. "What?"

"Now, I'm only picking up bits and pieces, of course." Sonic Rainboom said. "Overprotective mother, forbidden road trip. I mean, this is serious stuff. But let me ease your conscience. This is part of growing up. A little rebellion, a little adventure, that's good, healthy even!" Rainbow Dash smiled a little, and said "You think?" "I know." Sonic Rainboom said. "You're way over-thinking this, trust me. Does your mother deserve it? No. Would it break her heart and crush her soul? Of course. But you just got to do it." Rainbow Dash frowned, and said "Break her heart?" Sonic Rainboom took a grape from a grapevine, and said "In half." "Crush her soul?" Rainbow Dash asked. Sonic Rainboom placed the grape on the ground, and stepped on it as he said "Like a grape." "She would be heartbroken, you're right." Rainbow Dash said in fear. "I am, aren't I?" Sonic Rainboom asked. "Oh bother. All right, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm letting you out of the deal." Rainbow Dash looked at the thief in shock, and said "What?!" "That's right." Sonic Rainboom said. "But don't thank me. Let's just turn around and get you home." He gave Rainbow Dash her frying pan, and pushed Spike towards her as he said "Give you your pan, and your lizard friend." "I'm a dragon!" Spike yelled out. "I don't do that tounge thing!" "Whatever." Sonic Rainboom said. He looked at Rainbow Dash, and said "Anyway, I get back my satchel, you get back a mother-daughter relationship based on mutral trust, and voila! We part ways as unlikely friends."

Rainbow Dash moved away from Sonic Rainboom, and said "No! I am seeing those lanterns!" "Oh, come on!" Sonic Rainboom yelled out in distress. "What is it going to take to get my satchel back?!" Rainbow Dash held her frying pan to Sonic Rainboom's face, and said "I will use this if you don't watch it!" She squeaked in fright when she heard a ruffling noise in a bush near by as she jumped on the thief's back, and Spike ducked behind him in fright. "Is it ruffians?! Thugs?! Have they come for me?!" Rainbow Dash asked quickly as she shook in fear. A gray rabbit hopped out of the bush, and just stared at the ponies and dragon. "Stay calm." Sonic Rainboom said breaking the silence. "It can probably smell fear." "Oh, huh, sorry." Rainbow Dash said getting off of Sonic Rainboom. "Guess I'm just a bit jumpy." "Probably be best if we avoid ruffians and thugs, though." Sonic Rainboom said. Rainbow Dash nodded, and said "Uh-huh, yeah, that'd probably be best." After a short pause, Sonic Rainboom said "Are you hungry? I know a great place for lunch." "Oh." Rainbow Dash said. "Where?" "Oh, don't you worry." Sonic Rainboom said. "You'll know it when you smell it." They then walk off to a place to eat.

In another part of the Everfree Forest, Derpy Hooves was looking around for Sonic Rainboom. She then heard a noise coming from the other side, and she jumped at the pony who she thought it was the thief. Instead, it was Rarity who jumped back in shock. Derpy Hooves groaned in disappointment. "Uh, a Canterlot pony guard." Rarity said shaking her head disbelief. "Where's your boss?" Her face paled in fear, and said "Rainbow Dash. RAINBOW DASH!" She ran off, leaving Derpy Hooves just standing there in confusion before she shrugged, and continued her search for Sonic Rainboom. Rarity ran through the tunnel, went up to the tower, and said "Rainbow Dash, let down your mane!" There was no response, so she said "Rainbow Dash?" She began to panic when there was still no response, so she dug through the dirt and rubble, and climbed the hidden stairway. "Rainbow Dash?" Rarity called out as she looked up to Rainbow Dash's bedroom. She ran to the bedroom, and pulled the sheets of the bed to reveal a pile of pillows as she said "Rainbow Dash!" She then ran downstairs, went to the closet, and opened it as she said "RAINBOW DASH!" Suddenly, a glimmer of light caught her eye, and she looked to see something shining underneath a step of the stairs. She lifted it up to see a satchel. She picked it up with her magic, and looked inside to see the crown that Sonic Rainboom stole, along with his wanted poster. She ran to a drawer, and took out a dagger. She then knew what she had to do. Find the pony that ponynapped her daughter, and kill him.
