Chapter 10

Later that day, Rainbow Blitz, Rainbow Dash, and Spike got into a boat. As Rainbow Blitz started to paddle away from the dock, he looked at Derpy Hooves, and said "Hey, Derpy! Catch!" He tossed a bag of apples to her, and she glared at him. "What? I bought them!" She smiled, and started to eat an apple as he said "Most of them." She stopped eating as her face paled in fear. "Where are we going?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Well, best day of your life, I figured you should have a decent seat." Rainbow Blitz said. Night eventually fell, and Rainbow Blitz, Rainbow Dash, and Spike waited for the lanterns to fly into the sky. Rainbow Dash looked down, and said "Hmm." "You okay?" Rainbow Blitz asked feeling concerned. "I'm terrified." Rainbow Dash said. "Why?" Rainbow Blitz asked. "I've been looking out a window for eighteen years, dreaming about what it might feel like when those lights rise in the sky." Rainbow Dash said. "What if it's not everything I dreamed it would be?" "It will be." Rainbow Blitz said. "Hmm." Rainbow Dash said. "And what if it is? What do I do then?" "Well, that's the good part, I guess." Rainbow Blitz said. "You get to go find a new dream." Rainbow Dash smiled as she said "Hmm." In the castle in Canterlot, Prince Solaris and Princess Celestia were getting ready to release the lanterns into the sky. Princess Celestia looked up at her husband who was silently crying, and she wiped the tears from his eyes while feeling sad.

They went out into the balcony, and release the lantern that was already lit into the sky, giving the other ponies the signal to light up their lanterns, and release them into the sky. In the boat, Rainbow Dash was placing flowers in the water when she spotted a lantern in the reflection. She looked up to see it fly, and got in front of the boat to see more laterns flying in the sky. Then, some ponies in ships lit up their lanterns, and release them into the sky. Soon, the whole area was covered in flying lanterns as Rainbow Dash and Spike smiled. Then Rainbow Dash noticed the light hitting her face, and she turned around to see Rainbow Blitz holding two lanterns that were already lit. Rainbow Dash sat down in the boat, and said "Hmm. I have something for you, too." She took out Rainbow Blitz's satchel with the crown inside it, and said "I should have given it to you before, but I was just scared. And the thing is, I'm not scared anymore. You know what I mean?" Rainbow Blitz gently pushed his satchel down, and said "I'm starting to." Rainbow Dash smiled, and they both released their lanterns into the sky. Rainbow Dash noticed a lantern moving towards the boat, and she caught it, and pushed it into the sky.

Rainbow Blitz then smiled, and took Rainbow Dash's hoof in his own. She became surprised, and looked at him as she took his other hoof in her own. As they started to lean towards each other, Spike blushed in embarrassment, and covered his face with his claws. They leaned towards each other's lips to kiss each other, but Rainbow Blitz spotted Flim and Flam on the shore. As they left, Rainbow Dash looked at him, and said "Is everything okay?" "Huh?" Rainbow Blitz asked. "Oh, yes, uh, huh. Yes, of course. I just..." He rowed Rainbow Dash and Spike to shore as he said "I'm sorry, everything is fine. There's just something I have to take care of." "Okay." Rainbow Dash said. Rainbow Blitz then took his satchel, and took off as he said "I'll be right back." Spike looked at Rainbow Dash as he said "Is everything okay?" "It's all right, Spike." Rainbow Dash said. On the other side of the shore, Rainbow Blitz approached Flam as he said "Ah, there you are. Huh. I've been searching everywhere for you guys since we got seperated." He looked at Flam as he said "Hey the sideburns just coming in nice, huh? Gotta be excited about that." Flam just glared at him as Rainbow Blitz tossed his satchel to him as he said "Hmm-mm. Anyhow, just wanted to say, I should have split, the crown is all yours, I'll miss ya, but I think it's for the...best." He started to walk away, but he was blocked by Flim as Flam said "Holding out on us again, eh, Rainbow Blitz?" "What?" Rainbow Blitz asked. "We heard you found something." Flam said. "Something much more valuable than a crown. We want her instead." Rainbow Blitz's anxiety grew when he realized that they were after Rainbow Dash. But before he could do anything, Flim knocked him out cold.
