Chapter 11

Back at the boat, Rainbow Dash and Spike were waiting for Rainbow Blitz to return. Rainbow Dash saw Rainbow Blitz's shadow in the fog, and sighed with relief as she said "Uh, I was starting to think you ran off with the crown, and left me." Suddenly, the shadow split into two as Flim and Flam approached Rainbow Dash as Flim said "He did." "What?" Rainbow Dash asked. "No. He wouldn't!" "See for yourself." Flam said pointing behind him." She looked ahead as she said "Rainbow Blitz?" She spotted Rainbow Blitz sailing away on a boat with the crown in his hoof. She became shocked as she said "Rainbow Blitz!" "Fair trade, a crown for the mare with the magic mane and tail." Flim said. Rainbow Dash turned to face Flim and Flam as Flim said "How much do you think somepony would pay to stay young and healthy forever?" As Flam took out a huge sack to capture Rainbow Dash, she ran for her life, and said "No, please, no! NO!" Her tail got caught in a log, and she began to pull on it to get free. Suddenly, Rarity knocked both Flim and Flam out cold with a stick, and said "Rainbow Dash!" "Mother?" Rainbow Dash asked in a mutter. She walked around the corner to see Rarity holding the stick with her magic and panting. She looked up at Rainbow Dash, and said "Oh, my precious filly!"

"Mother." Rainbow Dash said as she went up to her mother, and hugged her. "Are you all right?!" Rarity asked. "Are you hurt?!" "Mother, how did you-?" Rainbow Dash tried to ask, but her mother interrupted her as she said "I was so worried about you, darling. So I followed you. And I saw them attack you, and...oh my, let's go. Let's go before they come to!" Rainbow Dash looked at Rainbow Blitz from a distance as tears started to swell in her eyes. She looked back at Rarity who looked at her witn pity. She sobbed as she ran to her mother, and hugged her. "You were right, mom." She said. "You were right about everything." "I know, darling. I know." Rarity said as they went back to the tower. At the Canterlot pier, the boat Rainbow Blitz was in arrived on the dock as a pony guard said "Look! The crown!" Rainbow Blitz woke up feeling dizzy as he muttered "Rainbow Dash." He then realized that he was tied to a boat. Appartently, Flim and Flam tied him up in the boat, and placed the crown in his hoof to make it look like he took off with the crown, and left poor Rainbow Dash. He looked around in panic as he said "Rainbow Dash!" He then became apprehended by the pony guards as he said "No, no, no, no, wait, wait, wait, stallions, stallions! RAINBOW DASH!" Derpy Hooves saw the scene, and looked back at the shore when she realized something was wrong.

-The next morning-

Rainbow Blitz paced back and forth in his cell, and he looked out the cell window. Then, Shining Armor unlocked his cell door, and said "Let's get this over with, Rainboom." "Where are we going?" Rainbow Blitz asked. Shining Armor just gave him a stern look that says "You know where we are going." Rainbow Blitz placed his hoof on his neck as he said "Oh." At the tower, Rairty finished unbraiding Rainbow Dash's mane and tail as she said "There. It never happened. Now, wash up for dinner. I'm making hazelnut soup." She started to leave, but when she saw the very sad look on her daughter's face, she sighed, and said "Huh. I really did try Rainbow Dash. I tried to warn you what was out there. The world is dark and selfish and cruel. If it finds even the slightest ray of sunshine, it destroys it." She then left the bedroom, and closed the curtain door. Rainbow Dash sighed as she took out her purple cloth with the yellow sun on it that Rainbow Blitz got for her, and looked at Spike who started at her sadly. She then layed down her bed. As she stared up at the ceiling, she look at her cloth, and then back at the ceiling. She then stared in awe as a yellow sun appeared on the ceiling. And another, and another, and another. Suddenly, a flood of memories appeared in her head as she stood up from her bed. From the day she was born, to the time at the festival, to the time she tried on her crown. She then gasped as she stumbled back and hit her desk. She then realized that she's the lost princess.

Back at the dungeon at the castle in Canterlot, Rainbow Blitz was being escorted to the gallows when he spotted Flim and Flim in their cell. He then pushed them away from him, and grabbed Flim as he said "How did you know about her?! TELL ME, NOW!" "It wasn't us!" Flim said. "It was the old mare!" "Old mare." Rainbow Blitz muttered. He then realized that Flim was talking about Rarity, but he became apprehended as he said "Agh! Wait! No! Wait! You don't understand, she's in trouble! Wait!" Back at the tower, Rarity heard a noise from upstairs as she said "Rainbow Dash?" She started climbing up the stairs as she said "Rainbow Dash, what's going on up there? Are you all right?" Rainbow Dash emerged from her bedroom as she muttered "I'm the lost princess." Rarity sighed as she said "Oh, please speak up Rainbow Dash. You know how I hate the mumbling!" "I am the lost princess!" Rainbow Dash said as she glared at Rarity. "Aren't I? Did I mumble, mother? Or should I even call you that?" Rarity then stared in shock, but quickly shook it off as she said "Oh, Rainbow Dash, did you even hear yourself? Why would you ask such a ridiculous question?" She tried to hug her daughter, but Rainbow Dash pushed her away as she said "It was you! It was all you!"

Rarity glared down at Rainbow Dash as she said "Everything that I did was to protect you!" Rainbow Dash then went past Rarity as she said "Ugh!" "Rainbow Dash!" Rarity said as Rainbow Dash went down the stairs. "Rainbow Dash!" "I've spent my entire life hiding from ponies who would use me for my power when I should have been hiding from you!" "Where will you go?" Rarity asked. "He won't be there for you." "What did you do to him?!" Rainbow Dash asked. "That criminal is to be hanged for his crimes." Rainbow Dash gasped in horror as she said "No." "Now, now." Rarity said trying to comfort Rainbow Dash. "It's all right. Listen to me. Everything is as it should be." She tried patting Rainbow Dash's mane, but she stopped her as she said "No! You were wrong about the world. And you were wrong about me! And I will never let you use my mane and tail again!" She pushed her mother away, and she bumped into a mirror, and broke it. As Rainbow Dash started to walk away, Rarity became angry, and muttered "You want me to be the bad guy? Fine." As she advanced on her daughter threateningly, she muttered "Now, I'm the bad guy."
