Chapter 8

3 weeks...

3 weeks without my mate...

The love of my life...

Every time they hurt or do anything to her, I feel it. I feel the pain, the emotion, and I get angry with myself because I can't help her. The council is forcing me to still learn to master my skills while this is going on. But I can't, JJ is out there somewhere and the only place I want her to be is in my arms. When I'm not training I'm looking for JJ, I can't sleep until she's safe. I think I've picked up on a trail of JJ's scent so I follow it. I hear footsteps but keep walking. I keep walking until I knew for sure someone is following me. I turn around and chase the person to a dead end, they are in wolf form. I make them turn around and see its a baby wolf.

"Why are you following me?" I ask.

"I have to deliver a message to your Alpha." She says.

"I'm telling you right now if your pulling anything I won't hesitate on ripping you apart." I growl.

I see the fear in her eyes and it makes me feel bad. Ever since JJ has been gone I've been angry and hostile towards everyone. She made me a better person and I need her back. I change into wolf form and we run until we get to our territory line. I howl and soon my pack is here. We both change back into human form and the girl steps in front of Hope.

"My Alpha wants me to give you a message. He has a member of your pack and if you don't want her to die give him the protector. If you don't obey he will kill her and attack your pack." She says.

"How does he even know?" Ash asks.

"I don't know but Mal we can't let him get you." Hope says.

"Its not your choice, JJ is my mate and I will bring her back home if its the last thing I do. On top of that they are hurting her to get to me, I have to do this." I say.

"We aren't just going to give you up." Carli says.

"I know, this is going to be a blood bath." I say.

"Tell your Alpha we accept his offer and we will meet at noon on the horizon." Hope says.

She nods her head before taking off into the woods. I go into the house with the rest of the pack for the first time since JJ has been gone. I go into my bedroom and sit on the edge of my bed, Kelley and Ali come too.

"We missed having you here." Kelley says.

"I missed being here." I say.

Kelley comes over and wraps her arms around me. Its the most comfort I've had since JJ has been gone. With her gone I feel empty and I don't care about anything except her.

"Come on guys its time for dinner." Ali says.

We all go downstairs and walk into the kitchen. I smile when I see mine and JJ seats are open. I go and sit in my seat and zone out. I'm brought out of my trace when Pinoe waves a plate of food in front of my face.

"Told ya works all the time." Pinoe says.

For the first time since JJ has been gone I laugh, a genuine laugh. Everyone smiles and we start to eat.

"Where's Dad and Nakai?" I ask.

"They went to stay with our brother pack." Mom says.

"Why?" I ask.

"Our brother pack is more fitting for them. After your Mom told me about why you guys had to move we thought sending him over there was the best choice. Your Dad didn't want him to be alone so he choose to go with him." Hope says.

I nod my head and we continue to eat. After dinner we all go into the living room and watch a movie. It was Hope's idea. She knows tomorrow isn't going to be pretty so we're all just going to spend time together right now and think about tomorrow when it gets here. I'm on a couch with Alex, Tobin, and Kelley. I have my head on Alex's shoulder and Kelley has her arms wrapped around my waist. Tobin has her head on Alex's lap while she plays with her hair. I smile as I look at everyone, we're all different but we're still a family.
