*Mal's POV*

So when I finally left we got in a car and started driving.

"I know how much you hate being in cars so chew on this." Lauren says.

She gives me something that looks like a mint. I take it and put it in my mouth. It gave me a tingling sensation that made me feel relaxed. I sat back and enjoyed the ride which I might add took a few hours. We finally reached an airport and got on a jet, now I've been on an airplane before but something about this jet was super sketchy.

"Don't worry supernaturals built this jet, its not like the others." Jill says.

I just nod my head and wait for us to take off.

"When we get there its going to be night so don't go to sleep now because then you'll be awake when we get there." Becky says.

"Yeah we'll help you with the jet lag because trust me its a bitch." Abby says.

"Yeah its not the only one." I mumble.

I knew they heard me but I really didn't care.

"Hey I know your upset with us for making you come on this trip when your mate is about to have a baby but being the protector comes with sacrifices." Amy says.

"Well I never asked to be the protector, hell I never asked to be supernatural." I say.

"True but these are the cards that you were given and now you must play them whether you like it or not." Shannon says.

"Don't think your the only protector who didn't want to go through all of this." Christie says.

"Can you just tell me what the hell is so important about this trip?" I ask.

"You will be meeting council members from different supernatural species." Whitney says.

"Really we couldn't do this at a different time?" I ask.

"You don't understand, every four years council members come together and discuss everything within our realm. As the protector you must know this information, some of these things are vital to our existence." Lori says.

I get tried of talking to them so I take out my phone, yes I have one but I don't use it often. There's no need for it. Yes I know the kids around my age are attached to their phones and can't live without them. But we've had to worry about more important things like making sure we stay a secret. On top of that if I really needed to call someone from my pack I would just howl or mind link with them. Yes I have social media and its fun to go on it and pretend that I'm a normal teenage girl. But that can only last for so long. Anyway I plug in my headphones and listen to music. While I'm doing that I scroll through the photos of JJ and I together. I miss her so much and it hasn't even been a full day. Hours later we end up landing and when we get off the jet we meet up with these people who take us to a hotel. We have a suite with many a lot rooms. So I get my own which I'm super happy about. When I get to my room I unpack my clothes and go out with the council for dinner. When we get back I go take a shower then go and lay in my bed. I text JJ before falling into a much needed sleep.
