Lost & Found

Chapter 9

I wake up and I still have Kelley's arms wrapped around me, she's asleep. Most of the girls are up so I wake Kelley up and we go upstairs to shower. I put on my training clothes that the council gave me. We had to notify them about what's going on and they're here. They gave me these combat clothes which consist of these dark bottoms that imitate leggings but I can tell they're made of something more and a long sleeved black shirt that has many layers but is still flexible. I walk into the kitchen with the rest of the pack to eat breakfast. You can feel the tension, everyone is silent even Pinoe. Everyone has combat clothing on, we we're ready.

"Okay, I know we all know what's going on but you can't let it get to you. Some of you have been in combat with me before some of you haven't. But know that we all stand together, we don't leave anyone behind." Hope says.

We all nod and start on our path to the horizon. Halfway there I hear footsteps, I look over and see our brother pack. I see my Dad and little brother walking with them and they look in my direction. We make eye contact and we just nod, its kind of our silent signal to each other. We walk until we get to the mountain. We hike up the top and we reach a flat valley. I look across to the other side because I can sense someone coming. I feel a pain in my chest and I know that Julie is here. I wait a while longer and then I see people on the other side.

"Now we can do this the hard way or easy way. You can give us the protector and you get your vampire back or we can kill you all and walk away with the protector. Your choice." Amar says.

He's their Alpha, the council makes me study all of the packs and clans in our world.

"Let me see her." Hope says.

Amar nods his head and some people bring Julie forward but she has a sack on her head. They pull it off and my heart sinks. She has bruises all over her face and she looks like she's been through hell and back. Amar is a Rouge, so he was cast out of his pack. When your cast out you usually don't last long unless you find a another pack. He found a pack and challenged their Alpha to combat and won so as a result he took over the pack. I step forward at Amar takes the hand cuffs off Julie. She can barely walk but manages as she takes a step so do I. We met in the middle of the valley and I pull Julie into me.

"I'm so sorry." I say.

She just shakes her head and pulls me into a kiss.

"I love you." She whispers.

"I love you too." I say.

I take in her scent before letting her go. When she finally reaches Hope Amar grabs me and binds my hands.

"Why do you want her?" Hope ask.

"That's for me to know and for you to find out." Amar says.

I feel my blood rushing threw my body, the next thing I know I have my hand around Amar's heart and his pack starring at me in shock.

"You have no idea what I'm capable of, I should kill you for what you've done to my mate. But I'm going to let you off with a warning this time. If you or any of you come after my pack I will kill you. And that's not a threat, its a promise." I say.

I let Amar go and walk back across the valley to my pack but I feel something so I turn around and move to the side. Smart because if I didn't there would have been a bullet in my back. I look and see Amar has a gun so I run at him. He just keeps firing but I dodge every one. He runs out of bullets and I go up and grip my hand around his throat.

"I told you what would happen." I say.

I look him in his eyes and watch the light disappear from his eyes as I rip his throat out. He drops and I look at this pack behind me.

"Yawo. Take off." I say.

They obey and leave the valley. I walk back to my pack and we walk home. I pick Julie up and carry her back to the house. I could tell something is up but I'm going to wait until we get home. When we get to the house I bring JJ to the living room and lay her on the couch. Ali comes and starts to heal her.

"You'll be fine in a few days I'll just have to do this in the morning before you go to school." Ali says.

"Thanks Ali." JJ says.

"Anytime, now you need to get some rest. I know your a vampire but there's a first time for everything." Ali says.

We head to our room and get in our bed. For the first time in weeks JJ is in my arms, safe. She lays her head on top of my chest.

"Hey, I was worried about you." I say.

"I know but I'm okay now." JJ says.

JJ looks up and me and I bend down and kiss her lips, I almost forgot the taste.

"I love you." I say once I pull away.

"I love you too." She responds.

For the first time in a long time the both of us fall into a peaceful sleep knowing the both if us are alright.
