The next morning I was woken up by a loud knock at our front door, which was better than waking up to be sick, at least. Still, it wasn't the best way to wake up and I grumbled to myself all the way to the door.
"Dani? What are you doing here? What time is it?" I asked with a yawn after opening the door to see a very perky Danielle standing at our doorstep, looking far too wakeful.
"Morning Ni. It's nine o'clock. I'm here to hang with Niam!" Danielle replied, sweeping into the room with a bubbly laugh.
"Danielle, I love you, but now isn't the best time. Our families are coming today so we can tell them about the baby." I explained, following after her as Danielle went to wake Liam.
"Oh, when are they coming? Can I stay 'til they get here?" Dani replied as she pushed Liam off the bed. Not the best way to wake him up: but definitely effective.
"Ow! What-? Dani? What are you doing here?" Liam asked, climbing back up to his feet as he wiped sleep from his eyes with a big yawn.
"Niall said I could stay 'til yer families got here." Dani laughed sweetly, grinning widely as Liam gave me a look like maybe he thought I'd forgotten what today was.
"No I didn't!" I exclaimed, but broke almost immediately when Dani gave me the puppy look. "Oh alright; you can stay. But you have to go when our families get her: we're not even letting the lads be here when we tell them."
"OK! Let's go watch a movie; I sense you two aren't going to be a good source of stimulating conversation this morning!" Dani laughed before grabbing us both by the hand to drag us out of the room.
"At least let us get dressed first." Liam laughed, pulling Danielle to a stop easily.
"Fine, fine, fine. I'll go put on a movie while you girls get ready then." Danielle laughed, blowing a kiss in our general direction as she skipped out of the room; giggling as she went.
We got dressed quickly before joining Danielle in the sitting room, where she was sprawled across the settee as the opening credits for The Hunger Games rolled across the screen. About half way through, I noticed Liam had fallen asleep and even though I'd resolved myself to staying awake, I soon joined him; cuddled up to him as he hugged me closer. I was woken up again an hour later by the loud bang of the front door to our apartment closing.
"Morning Ni. Have a good sleep?" Someone to my left asked with a laugh. The voice was familiar, but I couldn't quite place it for a minute, because I was too sleepy.
"Greg? When did you get here?" I asked, opening my eyes to see my older brother smiling at me.
"About five minutes ago. Danielle let us in." Greg laughed, probably mostly at my confusion. Or the fact I was still cuddled up to Liam, who was fast asleep.
"OK! Lili; wake up!" I laughed, poking Liam and making him jump, so then he fell off the settee with a loud thump.
"Niall! What was that for?" He groaned, sitting up to glare at me as he rubbed the back of his head. "Just because you're pr-"
"Liam!" I interrupted before he could get any further, giving him a pointed look. "My family's here."
"Oh. Um.....hi....." Liam was saved from having to continue by a knock at the door. "That's probably my family. Be back in a second."
Once he'd come back with his family in tow, we took a minute to greet everyone before they all sat. I was too full of nervous energy to sit and I guess Liam was the same because he stayed standing by my side as I fidgeted. Either that or he wanted to put up a united front.....or make it clear we were in this together.
