Interviewer Incident

Our first interview since Lily Ann was born is happening today and I couldn't be anymore nervous. I was worried about leaving Lily Ann, even though the interview wouldn't even be that long and Lou, who I trusted with my life, would be the one taking care of her.

I was also a bit nervous about appearing in the public domain after so long; I hadn't left the house since Lily Ann was born and even before that I'd only gone out once or twice since getting back from America.

"Don't worry, Ni. Lou will have her the whole time and we'll be done before you know it." Liam reassured, joining me on the settee, where I'd been sitting for the last five minutes; watching Lily Ann play with the frills on her dress, which was the one Danielle got her. She was sitting on my lap and facing me while I had a supporting hand on her back so she was sitting up and the other on the back of her head since she couldn't lift it herself yet.

"I know; I just worry, OK? Like Zayn said; I'm technically the mother here so I'm the worrier, biologically speaking." I joked halfheartedly, cooing at Lily Ann and laughing when she gurgled back at me and flung out her arm.

"Yeah, alright. Get ready though, we have to go out there soon." Liam laughed, kissing my temple and Lily Ann's head before jumping up to go do something with the others that was probably going to be unhelpful to the crew, who were trying to make everyone's job easier. Lily Ann's birth hadn't, in the slightest, taken away from the fact that Liam could be really childish when he wanted to.

Sighing, I got up, cradling Lily Ann to my chest, before handing her over to Lou, who smiled and reassured me she'd take good care of her. I appreciated that, despite the fact I'd only be gone for about half an hour, Lou still knew I was nervous about leaving her and reassured me instead of laughing at me. I guess she remembered how it was from the first time she left Lux with someone else.

Speaking of Lux; she loved Lily Ann and found the new addition to the 1D family absolutely fascinating. She'd come over to sit beside me when I'd been sitting with Lily Ann on the settee and kept asking all kinds of questions. It was adorable.

Once I was called to go on, I dropped a kiss to Lily Ann's forehead, smiled weakly at Lou and took a deep breath, before trailing along after Liam, who threaded his fingers through mine and grinned at me when I caught up to him and the others.

"Stop worrying. She'll be fine." Liam murmured against my lips; punctuating each sentence with a soft kiss until we really had to go on. Then he rapped his arm around my shoulders, pulled me closer so we were pressed together tightly and lead me out to the stage where we were welcomed by a young woman whose name I couldn't remember because I hadn't been paying attention when she introduced herself earlier.

"Well boys; welcome to the show." Our interviewer greeted with a slightly fake looking smile, to which we all smiled and mumbled greetings. I still hadn't learned the girl's name and at this point I felt that I probably never would. "All nice and refreshed after your little break?"

"Well, all except these two." Louis laughed, jerking his thumb in mine and Liam's direction with a playful smile. "They haven't slept right since Lily Ann was born."

"Oh, I hadn't been sleeping right long before that. Lily Ann was a night kicker." I chirped with sarcastic enthusiasm, which got the others laughing.

"Very funny, Niall." Whatever-her-name-is laughed; sickly sweet as her smile became more obviously fake. She clearly wasn't very open-minded and probably didn't want to be here; at least not with Liam and I. Now I was almost glad I didn't know her name and felt no need or want to discover what it was.

"Yeah; Niall's a real comedian. We're thinking if this whole boy band thing doesn't work out, he could do a stand up act." Louis told her and by the tone of his voice and the slight hardening of his normally soft eyes, I knew he'd picked up on her fake bubbly personality just as I had.
