Stop.
Glance around you.
Take in the atmosphere.
Take a second to breathe in the world.
Take a second to recognize the little things.
A Bluejay perched silently on a birch branch, nestled amongst a neighborhood of various wildlife.
Cool, refreshing raspberry iced tea filling a crystal glass to the brim and coupled perfectly with a biscotti.
A sliver of citrine sunshine breaking through the curtains and landing on your ebony and ivory crossword puzzle.
A picnic placed on the sandy shores of a beach.
A romantic night of caressing, bonding, and listening to the drums of your partner's heartbeat to make up for a rebuttal.
A grieving wife placing her daughter's gift from her father in front of his music box and picture.
A caring boyfriend organizing his girlfriend's shower after using it.
A kiss blown from a loved one everytime they pass their quiet little house.
A simple airy breeze sweeping across your forehead as you labor under the summer sun.
A comforting embrace paired with a whisper telling you that your beauty is neverending and unmatched.
A mother's sacrifice allowing her children to live in safety and fulfill their aspirations.
Ordinary, day-to-day things.
The little things.
Remember to pay them recognition.
