Lost

I glace upon the mirror, only to see blankness.
I try to scream out to everyone that
"I AM STILL HERE!"
Nobody can hear me.
I am a distant whisper in the waves of wind, my voice is carried to another realm, along with my body.
I am lost. I am unheard. I long for help. I crave attention. I feed off of people's energy, because I am unable to generate my own.
This is the most frustrating feeling I have ever felt. My family has let me go, like a tree lets its' leaves be whisked away in the wind.
I cannot taste the sweetness of ice cream, nor the salty texture of potato chips crunch on the surface of my tongue.
I am a lost soul.
Dead.
Extinct.
The inside of a once living shell. The air I used to breathe in to survive, became my make-up, my whole being is hollow... cold. It gives people chills, that snake their way up and down their spines. My voice is like venom, full of pain and agony.
"Please, somebody...please... hear my words..anybody...please!"
I screach, but nobody can hear my ghostly pleads. I shift objects in hopes that somebody...anybody...will lend me their ears, and that I may finally be heard.
But, this only frightens the living, as they turn and leave me in the ghosts of their footprints.
Everything fades around me and I am engulfed in blackness. The halls around me decay and dissipate.
I open my eyes and realize that all the agony, distress, and darkness has left the narrow caverns of my mind.
It was all a dream.
It was a nightmare.
I understand what it feels like to be in a ghost's ectoplasmic shoes.
