Reminiscing on the days when rainbow chalk sketched into the warm summer sidewalk slid you into a moment of reverie.
The chilled push-up pops infused with brilliant flavors.
Those little multivitamins molded into a replica of favorite childhood characters.
A dampened cloth that your mom ran across your aching, fever-stricken body.
Chills running ramped across your skin.
The only sanctuary built was in the lulling vocal tone of your mother's serenading.
An abundance of toys lay scattered in disarray, lifeless in the aftermath of a day full of joyous frolicking.
Waking up every morning to the hopes that your cartoons would glaze the television and awaken your youth.
The unmistakable pleasure found in watching your father tinker away at his daily project amongst a pile of tools.
His white teeth in contrast with the black of oil dusting his entire body.
A smell of a home-cooked meal wafting into the air and reviving the growls hidden in your stomach.
Your mother's specific perfume bringing comfort to your soul.
Baking holiday treats with your grandmother.
The crispy golden outside and gooey chocolaty centers of cookies warm your taste buds.
The smell of dampened earth as your mom sends a waterfall of translucent water raining down on the multiple flowers situated in her garden.
Spending time in a moment of powerful nostalgia and setting your mind free from the hardships of the present day.
Reminiscing.
Reviving senses long lost in the jet streams of stress.
Never forgetting where you came from.
So beautiful, simple and pure.
