The Itch

Letting your glance settle across the parched desert floor.
Your line of vision rockets to the north and maneuvers around prickly yucca and crispy tumbleweeds.
Your feet take you to a sandy, barren road.
An itch that has been craving to be scratched.
You find yourself wanting to spread your wings and glide to the faraway  landscape dotted with tall, rich redwoods and icy rapids.
Just to escape.
To leave behind the norm that consumes your mind.
To simply select a location and slink away with the one you love.
Let your thoughts dive into the beautiful decorative hotel soaps and mini fridge stocked with delights.
A fireplace sets the room aglow.
Nature's music box rings in your ears.
You feel nothing but the warmth of your soulmate and the freedom of your mind sinking into the surrounding atmosphere.
Closing your eyes...
You escape.
