you shouldn't have asked me to leave with you.
i should have said no to you too.
all i did was disappoint,
i hardly moved a joint.
you asked me to dance and i said no,
i didn't want to dance with the friend of a crow.
no hard feelings is all i can say,
if you're heartbroken, just go and pray.
i'm not one to love the unrepentant,
for that, i will always be independent.
do not dwell on me,
for i am not the key.
i am not sorry i didn't dance,
but i am sorry you tried to give me a chance.
you were nervous and so was i,
you, because you are nice and shy,
me, because i didn't want to be touched.
by anyone else i will not be clutched.
don't take it personally,
it's not you, it really is just me.
i wanted to dance with another guy,
but he had someone else in his eye.
you would've had a better time
if you let me leave before my bedtime,
alone, i would've been fine.
it fits just as the stars always align.
