{{Chapter Eleven}} (Part 2)
“So . . . when are we leaving?” Gina asked or whined to us – call it what you like – as we talked with my parents. My dad even had the nerve to bring out my baby photos, which meant that Gina wanted hers shown as well. That was a bad idea – let’s just say that Gina looked like a flesh eating monster when she was born – everyone laughed at her.
After that embarrassing scene she left the room in her short shorts and a tank top only to return in a short denim skirt and a crop top that left everything out. Gross.
“Honey, can you go change back? They never agreed to let you come along.” My mother said softly, as if she was afraid of her daughter’s reaction.
“Ryder wants me to come,” she said and everyone looked at her funny. Ryder hadn’t said a word since he arrived unless you count head nods and shakes.
There was something wrong with her, I’ve known that since I arrived back but this was different. She was obsessed with Ryder, thinking and saying things Ryder has done when I know for a fact he hasn’t. I didn’t know if it was because of Ryder or herself that she was acting this way. I wanted to find out though…
(Ryder’s POV is about to occur. His POV will be written in bold)
Today when I saw Greenly I was relieved but angry. I wasn’t angry at Greenly, but the people who took her, who made her scared to leave her room for a week. I was angry at myself that I wasn’t there for her when she needed me, or seen the man she’s so desperately afraid off.
I knew why I felt this way and I know what I said today at lunch hurt her, and I know the reasoning to that as well. I knew why her sister, and Megan, and most girls wanted me and to be with me. It wasn’t because I was a spectacular person, it was because I was what my grandparents called a Siren.
Yes I know they usually call girls that but since I was the first born of two hybrid Triple S’ which is rare surprisingly, I was a Siren. Marie and my grandmother told me that this meant I was good for mating, meaning that I was . . . well . . . wanted by female Triple S. I was a bit freaked out, but that turned to complete bemusement when they told me something else.
I was attracted Greenly, not the same way as she would be attracted to me though. I had free will, just a bit of it, when it came to her but she barely had any with me.
“She will want to be with you, to mate you, and to bare your children.” Marie had said with a solemn expression. She was worried not only for me, but for Greenly as well. “People will be after her, if you choose her but it’ll be hard not to do so.”
“What do you mean? I asked, confused.
“She’s full blooded and you are a bit more than half Triple S – you are a one third Triple S meaning your blood will be stronger, meaning that you want a stronger mate, because Triple S’ mate for life.” She explained to me and my grandmother nodded.
“Yes, she’s right Ryder. I could tell when I entered the room that day that you two were destined. She’s new at this, she doesn’t know and the signs don’t kick in right away, but they will. She – as well as you – will see what is meant to happen.” Regina said. “You shouldn’t worry about the people after you though, you will protect one another, just let it happen.”
“Will it be real though?” I asked sadly.
“Will what be real?” Marie replied, studying my saddened features.
