LACEYS POV
Monday came around fast, and I mean too fast. Saturday consisted of me falling asleep after the flowers came and Sunday Harry came over and stayed with me. He told me all about how him and Rebecca made up. I was happy things worked out for the two. I'm glad we can all be friends and push everything behind us. I was now getting ready for my dads funeral. I had my hair straight because that's how my dad liked it. I had a black dress on that went down to mid thigh and black heels. I had light makeup on as I figure I would be crying. I walk downstairs to see my mother in a tight black dress with her hair up in a tight bun. She had on a crystal necklace my father bought her and her wedding ring. Me and my mother haven't been on speaking terms really. If her and my father wouldn't have been fighting then he still would have been here.
"You look good." My mother says.
"Thanks." I mutter as Cole walks down the stairs in a fancy little boys oulfit.
"Ready Cole?" I ask him. He just nods his head yes. He hasent been speaking sense dad died. Only when he really needs too.
"Lets go." My mother said. We nod as we climb in our car. We drive to the funeral home and I could already tell it was going to be awful. And it was.
*
A hour had passed and I was right this was awful. I didn't know half these people who give me strange hugs and sad looks. I had the urge to cry many times. I was about to slip outside to get some air, when somebody grabbed me. I spin around to see Grant.
"Lacey? I though that was you what are you doing here?" He asks me.
"Uh what are you doing here?" I ask him.
"My mother's friend from high school died. How do you know him?" He asks obliviously.
"Uh that's my dad." I say.
"Oh Lacey I didn't know I'm sorry." He says wrapping me in his arms.
"Its fine." I say as I hug him. I then hear somebody clear there through. I let go to see Harry and Rebecca.
"Hey guys." I say as I hug Harry.
"Hey babe." Harrys said to me.
"Hey Lacey." Rebecca says with a smile.
"Guys this is my friend Grant. Grant this is my boyfriend Harry and my friend Rebecca." I say as I introduced them.
"G-grant?" Rebecca chokes out.
"Rebecca?" He asks as they run into each others arms embracing each other in a hug.
"You guys know each other?" I ask them.
"Yeah." Rebecca says as both of them continue to smile.
"I didn't think I would ever see you again Rebecca!" Grant cheers.
"I know after everything that happened I can't believe your here when did you move back?" Rebecca asks.
"At the beginning of the school year." He says.
"That's so cool! I missed you Grant." Rebecca says.
"Missed you too but ...... when did you dye your hair red?" He asked.
"Don't ask." She laughs.
"Wait how do you guys know each other?" I ask.
"When I was in primary school I went to this summer camp every summer for a week, and that's where I met Grant. We became good friends and hung out that week for 8 years.... Then Grants dad got a job change and he moved out of England and we haven't seen each other sense. It's been 4 years." She cries. I also realize that's the same summer Harry left her. I look over at his face as guilt washed over.
"But now I'm back." Grant cheers.
"Yes! Where do you live now London again?" She asks.
"No were in Homes Chapel now." He smiles.
"That's so cool!" She laughed.
"Hey Lacey?" Harry asked while Rebecca and Grant continue to catch up.
"Yes?" I ask.
"Are you ok?" He asks.
"I'm doing better. Its alot Harry." I choke out.
"I know babe. That's why I brought them." Harrys says as he points to the door. There stands all my friends. Delilah was there with a bouquet of flowers, with Will on her arm. Walker was there smiling at me with Amber on his arm and Jimmie and Margo were also there. I began walking over to them, with Harry,Rebecca, and Grant following me. A smile growing on my lips as I do so. I hug everyone there right in order as tight as I possibly could. As I hug the last person, I stand there looking at everyone. This is where I finally had all my friends together. And its sad that it took my dads funeral to do that. But I kinda wish life was like a funeral. No, not somebody dying. But when everyone comes together as one, not based on looks or personality and we all look the same. All in black and you don't question someone why there crying or why they look like they do because it's a funeral. And nobody labels you on who you are. It's one day you really put someone before yourself. But it's such a shame that person has to be dead before you realize that. That's why I wish life was like a funeral. So labels didn't exsist.
