Back with Gaara

After staying at a small abandoned cabin for a week to recover her wounds from Deidara's blow, Misa had gone straight to the Wind country. It was to her great surprise when she was not only let into the Village of Suna but brought to a building where she was shown what would apparently be her bedroom, she felt like she had been expected, though she was not allowed to leave her room without the Kazekage's order.

Misa was all figgety as she placed the black cloak and her bag on her queen size bed. She also took off her poncho/cape. She wanted to see Gaara. That was the only reason she had come here, but now the Kazekage had her shut up in this room. Granted it wasn't bad, with the dressers, desk, night stand, and full length mirror. A closet, which she had discovered to be filled with kimonos.

She wanted to meet with the Kazekage and demand that they allow her to meet with Gaara, but the Sand nin who had brought her here said he was in a meeting at the moment. But would come when he was free. She wondered how they had known she would come. Had they been waiting for her?

The blonde frowned and kicked off her shoes in annoyance. She felt slightly broken as she stared at the ring Itachi had given her, back when she had been waiting for Tsunade to fix her legs. She had kept her senses focused on his chakra as she rested. The moment it had vanished from her senses she had cried till she was sure she could have drowned herself in the puddle. Thoughts of him in the past had rushed to her mind.

No more perfectly bloomed orchids on her birthday, no more surprise visits in the middle of the night, no more braiding his hair(which he had allowed her to do on five separate occasions), no more cuddling in his arms, no more joking around, no more playing card games, no more looking into his dark orbs and feeling safe.

Though not long after his death she felt like she was being watched, she wondered if perhaps Itachi was watching over her? Though it felt weird, she could almost imagine the fallen ninja trailing behind her like he had for most of her life. She found herself crying again as more memories surfaced. She'd be damned if he was looking up at her though. If anyone deserved to got to heaven it was Itachi. Sure they had destroyed the clan, but it was only to save the village.

He never did tell her where he had found such perfect orchids in december. She pulled her knees to her chest resting her chin on them, she wanted Gaara. He was the only thing that could comfort her now. She needed that comfort too, because any moment now she'd be on her way to the crazy hotel.

A blush appeared on her cheeks as realization hit her. 1, she hadn't seen Gaara in almost three years. 2, she had yet to tell him that she liked him too.

Her blush only seemed to spread as she laid back pulling a pillow over her face. How could she be so stupid as to reject him before? Granted she had been 15 and completely innocent, but still!!!! How could she!?!?!

Misa was mentally scolding herself, the pillow now held tightly in her arms as she rolled back and forth. She froze the moment she heard the door open. Misa slowly rolled so she could see the man who had entered. Her visible onix orb went wide as she stared into his sea foam green eyes, outlined in black. His red hair slightly longer than it was in his picture. The kanji for love still on his forehead.

He was dressed in a dark red, with a grey left shoulder vest that had two belts. The red coat went almost to his feet. Underneath Misa could see black pants and his sandals. He still had the old gourd of sand on his back though. That seemed to be the only thing about him that didn't change aside from his eyes and the kanji on his forehead.

He looked at her with equally wide eyes. She had changed so much since he'd last seen her. Her blonde hair now completely covered her blind eye and went past her hips. She looked slightly thinner  and she wore blue knee length slacks with a red tangtop that stopped just below her chest.

All in all, she could've been described as smoking hot. He wanted to reach out and cherish her cheek, but his mind traveled to their last meeting.

He had asked her to come live in Suna, and when she'd said no, he told her to reconsider. "Have you reconsidered my proposal?" He asked, he knew that if she had realized her feelings for him she would think 'proposal' as in 'marriage proposal'.

Misa blushed dark red telling the man she had. "Y-yes... I'd like to stay in Suna..." She muttered. Gaara smirked as he walked to her bed and sat beside her, his left hand traced her legs. The fact that she had been healed overjoyed him.

Misa's left took his hand into her's. "I missed you Gaara.." She said quietly. "Sasuke took me to Orochimaru.... Forced me to stay, never let me come see if you were ok...." Gaara watched her with sad eyes as she started to cry, he pulled her onto his lap and let her cry into his chest. "I missed you too, Misa."

He rubbed her back in soothing circles, he didn't care that he had left a meeting just to see her, even if Temari and Kankuro had told him to wait till the meeting was over. He needed to see her, almost as much as she needed to see him. It was clear in her eye, she needed comforting and Gaara seemed to be the only one who could give it to her.

His gaze narrowed as he looked over his shoulder, his brother and sister were at the door way. "So your sand was correct." Temari uttered as she approached the two. Misa had fallen silent and Gaara was wondering if she had fallen asleep.

"My sand is never wrong... It told me she was near.." Gaara tightened his grip around the blonde. "I almost left to go find her the moment the sand joined me."

Temari sweatdropped as she stared at her brother. "Gaara, are you sure it's wise bringing the

Golden Death into our home?" She asked.

"She's not the enemy, Temari. Misa has proved herself to the leaf, so she's proven herself to me." The red head snapped. Kankuro stepped forward and placed a hand on his brother's shoulder.

This was his third time really seeing Misa, aside from the time Gaara had run off with her into the night and the chunin exams when his brother had crippled her. But she seemed so different. She had always seemed heartless, and when it was announced she was an Uchiha, it finally made sense.

That was the way she had been raised, but now Kankuro wondered if this was even the same girl, she seemed so small and weak. The girl he remembered was the talk of the town, feared by the young, and respected by the old. Now he wondered if she could even scare a fawn.

"Are you sure she's not the Golden Death anymore?" He asked looking at the blonde Uchiha, her hair was the only thing that looked even close to the same, though maybe if she was awake he'd see her one white and one onix eyes. Though even her hair wass different, sure it still had the spike to it, but it was longer.

"Kankuro, Misa is and always will be Misa. But she has let go of her hate. So there will be no more mention of those repulsive nicknames." Gaara said looking up at his brother. "Now if you two will excuse me, I need to tuck my Misa in."

Temari smiled at his choice of words and nodded before leaving the room, with Kankuro close behind her. Gaara couldn't keep the smile from his face as he watched Misa sleep quietly. He slowly lifted her up, she was lighter than he thought, he didn't want to say she looked heavy, but a girl of her size and height should at least weight a little bit more.

He pulled back the dark brown sheets with his free hand then gently placed her down on the feather stuffed pillows. He wondered what Temari had done to this room after he had given her the job of redecorating for Misa. The large feather bed, dosens of pillows, cotton blankets and sheets, the mahogany desk, night stand, and dresser, it was a wonder he hadn't noticed the money put into the room, not to mention to full body mirror, that probably cost a mint.

He brushed her bangs away from her face revealing her dark eyelashes, he smiled pulling the blanket up to her shoulders. The red head leaned forward and kissed her forehead. "I'll be back soon." He whispered, though he knew she couldn't hear him.
