Hey everyone! Kinaru is back with another chapter, I'm sorry there's not much action going on right now, I'm kinda trying to bring this story to a close, but who knows I might go crazy and write  more. BTW in advance sorry for the shortness.

Disclaimer:

Sasuke: Kinaru does not own Naruto or Naruto Shippuden.

Gaara: She only owns Misa, though that might be changed.

-------

Misa grinned as she recognized Tsunade's chakra, she was sure the older woman was looking at her in disgust.

"I should have known, only you could be so troublesome."

"You're starting to sound like Shikamaru." The Uchiha replied to her former leader. Tsunade sighed as she approached the bed Misa was sitting up in.

"Why did you choose to stay here in Sunagakure? I'm sure the sand is doing nothing to help you." The Hokage stated as she pulled down the blankets.

Misa grinned as she stared off into nothingness. "I was only following my heart, I've followed my head for far too long." She chuckled undoing her obi, Temari had helped her to learn to undo it, by tying it so she just had to pull a certain part.

Tsunade made her lay back, under her kimono Misa was wearing a tang top and shorts. "Oh? So you chose Gaara over Konohamaru and your team?"

Misa tensed at the mention of her adopted little brother. She had wanted to visit him, but so much had happened. She was blind and ill, what type of role model was she now? She sighed and hoped Naruto hadn't turned him into a dope.

"I was taught not to let my feelings guide me for so long, I believe I made the right choice staying with Gaara." She replied. The Uchiha visibly winced as Tsunade placed her hands over Misa's chest.

"Konohamaru misses you. After all, you're one of the few family members he has left." The hokage sighed.

Misa frowned as the woman checcked her over. "He's got... Naruto.. That dopes... a good enough... replacement for... me.." She muttered.

Tsunade frowned. "Don't talk like you're going to die. I've given Gaara my word that I'll heal you." SHe snapped.

The Uchiha sighed turning her head, though it made no difference. She didn't want to think of Konohamaru, that only made her think of Hiruzen, the third Hokage. The person she didn't want to think of.

The woman's glowing hands hovered over her chest for about thirty more minutes, Tsunade finally stopped. "What's the prognosis, Tsunade-baa-chan?" Misa asked as the woman pulled the blankets back up to her shoulders and held her hand.

"The surgery I'd need to conduct has the same possibilities as the last one I did on you." She replied.

Misa's hand tightened around the woman's. "Success where I live or Failure where I die." She chuckled sadistically.

Tsunade slapped her arm. "Don't act like you're going to die!" She snapped.

The Uchiha sighed as she released her hand. "You should go tell Gaara, I can feel his anxiouty coming through the wall."

Tsunade pushed Misa's bangs from her face. "Alright. Don't die while I'm gone." The Hokage teased.

Misa smiled at nothing and Tsunade left the room. Gaara was by her side in moments. "Can you safe her?" He demanded.

Tsunade smiled sadly at him. "Well I could give you a lot of fancy terms, but I'll give it to you straight. The surgery is a 50-50 chance. She could live, she could die. I recommend we strengthen her will to live, that should put the outcome of the surgery in our favor."

Gaara slowly nodded. "But you can heal her?"

"Yes." Tsunade sighed.

Gaara smiled as he stepped past her. "Thank you Tsunade."

She sighed as he went in the room. "Don't thank me yet.."

Gaara walked right up to the bed, sitting down near where Misa lay. "Tsunade just told me." He said laying down beside her, stroking her cheek. "You're gonna be well again."

She leaned into his hand. "There's a chance I'll die." She pointed out.

"Don't think like that, be positive, you're going to survive. As long as you believe you'll survive you will." He growled.

Misa giggled and nodded. "I know. I was told those exact words the day before Tsunade fixed my legs."

Gaara couldn't help but smile as he gazed into her sightless white eyes.

He pulled her closer, though Misa was under the blankets, so he couldn't quite hold her.

"I'll survive.." She mumbled. "I don't want to leave you yet.." Misa tried to snuggle closer to him, but realized the problem.

"I don't want you to leave either." He replied, Misa tugged on the blanket, trying to move it so that he'd be able to cuddle up next to her.

He noticed this and moved away much to her confusion, until he slip back to the spot next to her, but now under the covers.

Misa's smile returned as she hugged Gaara, pulling him as close as their bodies would allow. He put an arm protectively around her wich seemed to relax the blind Uchiha.

Gaara wondered just how long they would have to wait before Tsunade decided to do the procedure. They couldn't wait too long, Misa was already getting weak.

"Gaara?"

"Hm?" He leaned his head against her's so he could hear, her voice was so quiet.

"What happens after?" She asked, her grip on him tightened.

Gaara hesitated before answering. "What do youj want to happen?" He saw the blonde's cheeks turn red and smiled. When she didn't speak he chuckled. "You're going to have to tell me, I can't read minds, Misa."

Her blush darkened as she hid her face in his shirt. "I want to stay beside you." She said though it was muffled. Gaara smirked and kissed her forehead.

"Then that's what'll happen." He told her, holding her closer.
