"Sasuke!" Said Raven looked up, from where he was sitting beside Nekobaa, to see the woman's granddaughter. "Misa-chan's sick again!"
The Uchiha narrowed his eyes as he got to his feet. They had chosen to stay the night and were planning on leaving later that morning. Though Sasuke was thinking of changing his plans, since Misa's medicine hadn't kicked in yet, Sasuke wondered if it was too late for the medicine.
He followed Tamaki, only to find Misa collapsed on the ground, a stream of blood coming from her lips, while the substance that she'd coughed up covered her hands and the ground. She was taking in rough strangled breaths as she tried to steady herself.
"Misaki..." Her head snapped up in the direction from which she heard his voice. He kneeled down next to the blonde.
She bit her lower lip, her eyes held more pain than Sasuke could ever imagine. He wiped the blood from her chin and forced a smile even if she couldn't see it, he wanted to pertend that everything was going to be ok.
"S-sasuke..." She whimpered reaching out, he was sure she meant to hug him to seek comfort, but it didn't turn out like that, she ended up hugging his leg. A bead of sweat trailed down from his forehead as he looked at the blind.
He placed a gentle hand on her head, stroking her hair in a soothing gesture. At the same time, he adjusted her so that her arms were around his middle, her face buried in his chest.
"Tamaki, I'll watch her a while, you go watch the store with Nekobaa." He suggested, the girl nodded with a devilish smile and left the room. Sasuke sighed in relief, the way that girl looked at them made him feel like he was nothing more than a slab of meat in the eyes of a wolf.
Misa sniffled a little in his arms, bringing his attention back to her. She looked so weak in her new state, the sickness only added to it. She had dark bags under her eyes, making Sasuke wonder how long she had been having sleep issues. Last night was the first time he noticed that she was awake off and on.
"Sasuke...." Her voice was shakey as if she was forcing the words out. "Can.... Y-you... do some-thing... For me..?"
"Anything." He responded craddling her now, she weighed barely anything.
"C-can you.... kill me... wh-when the... T-time comes..?" Sasuke froze looking down at her, she couldn't be serious, she wanted him to kill her when she couldn't battle the disease anymore, what was she thinking?
"Misa-"
"Please..?" Sasuke bit the inside of his cheek, he really didn't want to do such a thing. He'd feel guilty for the rest of his life if he did.
"Misa don't make me do-" "Please?" There was begging in her voice as she shook in his arms.
"Alright..." He finally gave in, even if she couldn't see, the emotion in her eyes was too much for him to refuse, even if it was agreeing to kill her.
She gave him a sad smile nodding her thanks, cuddling deeper into his jacket. He always wondered how he had come to be such a sucker for her eyes. If he was even tricked into agreeing to kill her, his mind must have been too far gone.
"Oi, Misa-chan, wanna play poker?!" Sasuke sighed as he looked over his shoulder to see Suigets, Juugo, Tamaki, and to his surprise, Denka and Hina.
"Sui.. 1, I can't see. 2, not if it's strip poker." The golden Uchiha replied, her face dead serious.
"Awww! Come on! I even got Tamaki to play!" The water boy complained.
Sasuke suppressed a chuckle as the guy anime cried. "I'll be Misa's partner, as long as it's not strip poker."
Suigetsu frowned. "Come on Uchiha! Afraid you'll lose and have to strip?" He taunted.
Both Uchiha's gazes narrowed, anyone who was anyone knew Uchihas weren't ones to back down from a challenge. "We won't be the one's stripping." Both said simultaneously.
Suigetsu couldn't hide the smirk as the five sat in a circle along with the two cats. "Why are you guys playing?" Sasuke asked as Denka sat to his right, Hina on his right. Misa was in his lap.
"We only plan on watching." Hina replied for the both of them.
Sasuke sighed as he scanned the room. He noted that if anyone lost three times or more they would be down to their underclothing. He sweat dropped looking down at Misa, she was dressed in one of her dark blue kimonos. He had heard that traditionally women did not wear anything underneath, he hoped Misa didn't go by tradition.
Suigetsu shuffed the cards, then dealed them out. Sasuke looked down at his and Misa's cards. Kami didn't seem to be on their side today. He almost silently whispered their cards numbers and suits into Misa's ear.
He saw her pull a poker face as she replied back. He wanted to give her a look telling her she was crazy, but for the sake of the game, he kept his face straight as it progressed. His eyes traveled to Juugo, Tamaki, and Suigetsu.
Suigetsu was grinning like an idiot, Juugo had his poker face well in tact, and Tamaki looked like she was trying not to freak out. A smirk mad it's way to Sasuke's lips as he realized, Misa's suggestion was correct, switching out their cards.
They exchanged a few more words before Suigetsu laid down his hand. Everyone in the room tensed, how had he gotten such good cards in such a short time!?
Sasuke frowned and showed his hand, he had been on diamond ace away from beating that boy. Suigetsu's smirk only grew as he looked at everyone elses cards, it was clear he had won.
"Look at that Uchiha! I win!"
His victory was cut short though as Juugo placed down his own cards. "Evidentally not." Sasuke smirked. The water boy anime fell, glancing at his teammates cards.
"What the hell...."
Sasuke sighed and shook his head at the boy.
"Well I guess I'm loosing some clothing too!" Suigetsu said flirtatiously, winking at Misa, She was looking off into nothingness. His smile left as he pulled his shirt over his head revealing his well toned stomach and abs.
Tamaki blushed and took off one of her socks. Sasuke frowned wishing he had chosen to wear shocks that day, he pulled off his white t-shirt, Misa tensed as she suddenly felt Sasuke's bare skin against her arm.
"Did we lose?" She asked, Sasuke wondered if she was going deaf too.
"Yes." She nodded her head and pulled at her obi, unable to see where it was tied. Sasuke undid it for her, leaving Misa wrapped loosely in the kimono, with a tangtop and her under clothing underneath.
Sasuke gave a sigh of relief, he was afraid there was nothing under the fabric of the kimono.
The game continued on a few more rounds, it was soon down to Suigetsu and Sasuke. Tamaki had chickened out after getting down to just her t-shirt and underclothes. Juugo folded because he was hungry.
Where Misa refused to play another round after being left in her tang top and such. The two men still playing were in only their pants. The next one to win won the whole game.
Misa was sitting nearest to the door, Denka next to her. "Denka..."
The cat looked up at her curious as to why she didn't add her normal insult to his name. "Yes?"
"I need you to help me." She whispered, when she didn't hear anything from the cat she continued. "I need you to get my medicine and help me get back to Suna."
The tom smiled, not only was Misa asking for his help, but she was asking him to help her escape. "Alright, but you owe me." He purred brushing his tail along her leg as he left her side to retrieve the requested item.
Misa sat silent as the dead, waiting for the cat's return.
"There! I win! proving Uchiha are better than Houzuki!" Sasuke yelled making the blonde jump. Sounds like the poker game was finally over. Misa used the wall to help her to her feet, with help from Juugo and Nekobaa, she had improved a little on getting around. using her senses that worked to guide her, following chakra signatures and sounds.
In no time she'd be able to move freely with only a little worry for running into something.
