Seven hours later, and I finally get off of the plane. I almost ran outside and kissed the ground. Did I ever mention how much I hate flying? Well I do, with a passion. Which is why I'm doing it again in a week to get to my new place. Makes total sense, right? Anyways. I would have run right outside, but as soon as I was out of the gate I saw the sign. I almost fainted right then and there. "MAMA PENGUIN". That's what the sign said, and I knew in that second, I was about to get tackled.
I grinned and flailed my hands in the air. "Kylie!" I shouted her name loud enough so she could hear me, and she did just what I thought she would. She dropped the sign and ran to me. I barely had time to set down my bags before I had the girl that had practically become my little sister pouncing on me. "Holy Rapattoni Batman! You're real!" I laughed as I wiggled, moving so I could wrap her in my own hug. I had honestly thought she was a robot. We'd never talked outside Tumblr and Twitter, so I had no idea. But now I knew, because she was squeezing the life out of me. "Kylie...KYLIE! Can't breathe!" I laughed out with difficult breath's. Finally, she released me, and just stepped back with a huge grin on her face.
"Girl! I can't believe you're really here! You know where your hotel is?" I laughed and rolled my eyes, but I nodded. This was perfect. It felt great to smile again, a real one. I picked up my bags and followed her outside, where my rental car was already waiting for me. I shoved the bags into the trunk and hopped into the passenger seat, rattling off the address. "Psh. Girl. You're like...Two blocks away!" I busted out in more laughter. Her excitement was wonderful. It had been forever since someone had been happy to see me.
I drove the few short minutes it took to the hotel, and Kylie helped me lug my bags in. They really weren't that heavy, but I'm a bit of a wimp. I got my room key from the front desk and decided to be a nice person and take the elevator to the fifth floor, instead of the stairs. When we got to my door, Kylie and I both stopped dead in our tracks. We looked at each other and grinned this stupid grin fangirls always get when someone talks about their fandom. Someone, near the end of my hall, was playing IM5 music. The band we both loved so much, that we were going to see in a couple short days. Without saying a word to eachother, we dropped my bags and started dancing outside of my door. We didn't care if anyone saw, we were just nerds like that. Naturally, I was belting out the lyrics at the top of my lungs until my throat was sore and I was trying not to laugh.
Finally, I slid the key in the door and dragged Kylie and my bags in. I was still laughing like a fool as I flopped down on one of the beds, and Kylie on the other. "Kylie...This is going to be the best week ever, girl." I gave her a grin, and she nodded.
"You know it!" Her phone dinged, then, and I raised an eyebrow. "Twitter update." She explained. I nodded and started rummaging through my bag to pull out another outfit. We only had one thing planned for the day, and it was going to be awesome. "Holy Crapattoni!" I nearly dropped my bag on my foot when she shouted. "Dana just tweeted 'fangirls are the best, singing as loud as they can to our music.'" I had to laugh at that. Kylie was the biggest Dana fangirl I had ever met. I remember the day he finally followed her on Twitter. She didn't stop crying for hours, she was so happy. I rolled my eyes and continued unpacking, until I felt Kylie staring at me. "What the balls are you doing?" I had to laugh at the fact that I'd gotten Kylie using my phrases as her own.
"Well. I'm getting ready. I'm not going to Disney World dressed like this." I gave her a wink and she instantly lit up. I hadn't even told her I'd gotten tickets. It was the surprise of her life time. She tackled me again, and I tickled her until she finally let go, the both of us just lying on the hotel room floor laughing like a couple of idiots. "Get ready, dork!" I pretended to drop kick her to the bags she had stuffed into my car. It had taken a lot of convincing, but her parents had agreed to let her stay in the room with me for the week I was here. I hated being alone.
After a quick change and a quicker application of make-up, we were back in the car. She had to give me directions because I had no idea where I was going, but we made it to the park in one piece. I have to admit, I felt like a kid in a candy store. "By the way, don't spend all of your money at once. We're going to motha fuckin' Harry Potter World tomorrow!" I shouted from the top of my lungs at the thought of going to Universal. Harry Potter was my thing. I was Hufflepuff and proud, and I planned on buying every single thing I could.
Kylie just laughed at me as she dragged me into the park. I handed over our tickets, we got these nifty little cards, and we were on our way. We couldn't figure out what we wanted to do the most. So we walked around the shops for a while before the embarassment started.
"Excuse me...Are you Charlie? From PlusOne?" I whipped my head around, eyes a bit wide. Kylie simply stared at me as I nodded. "Oh my gosh! I thought it was you! I'm a huge fan! Your covers are amazing! And your original, 'It Gets Better' is the best thing I've ever heard!" I was grinning like a fool. I never figured anyone would recognize me from that stupid Youtube channel my sister and I had started, but here I was, confronting my first fan. "I hate to be a bother, but could I get an autograph?" That's when my head started to spin. She handed over a Sharpie and pulled out an autograph book, which I promptly signed. "And..Maybe a picture?" I nodded. It was all I could do. I couldn't speak, I was in shock. Kylie took the picture of us before I finally got the balls to say something back.
"Thank you so much for liking the channel! I really didn't think anyone but my old friends watched those videos!" I gave the girl a big hug as Kylie handed over her camera. I waved goodbye as we went back along with our day.
"What was that about?" Of course, I put on my fake angry face.
"Girl! I have fans! Remember that Youtube channel I told you about? Well aparently that girl was a fan of it. Pretty sweet, huh?" Kylie nodded in agreement as she pulled me onto some of the rides. She'd had enough talk of fans.
Throughout the day, a few more people recognized me, including a group of girls who ran up to me singing one of my original songs; "Perfect's Not So Perfect". I was elated. By the time Kylie and I got back to the car, I thought my day had been made. I was seriously wrong.
As soon as we got back to the hotel, we noticed the crazy amounts of papparazzi by the doors. We squeezed through them, and I barely caught a glimpse of spiky blonde hair walking into the dining area. I grabbed Kylie by the shoulder and turned her towards it. "Kyls...Tell me if I'm dreaming. Did I just see Dalton fucking Rapattoni?!" She craned her neck, trying to see, but she just shrugged.
"I'm too short, didn't see anything. Sorry. Anyways. Forget about it, probably just a wannabe. I'm beat." I nodded, and the two of us rode the elevator back up to our room. Like the first night, we could hear an IM5 song from down the hall, but we ignored it as we got into the room, flopped on the beds, and promptly passed out.
