Chapter 18 - Pre-show jitters
Julianna's P.O.V
Holy cow. I was actually going on a date with Niall Horan. THE Niall Horan. Who would have ever thought that.
I turned around in my seat on the couch again, impatient as always. Xan and No should've been here half an hour ago, helping me with my outfit. I had no idea what I was supposed to wear, and they knew. That was a fact. I always had them to rely on when I had a wardrobe malfunction. They knew my closet inside out, and I just had to name one item and they could sum up multiple outfits of the top of their heads. Though No mostly asked me for help, with things like this I could use their help.
I sighted again, as my mom rushed through the house, desperate to find something and anything.
"God mom, what are you looking for?" I groaned frustrated, turning around on the couch to look at my distressed mother.
"Keys. I'm looking for my keys. Why can't I find them" she said angry, whipping her head around to look for them. I rolled my eyes, glancing through the room and spotting her keys on the kitchen island.
"Mom, they're on the counter" I said, pointing to the kitchen. She whipped her head back, sighted deep and stomped towards the kitchen.
"Okay. Well, I'm going to work. I'll be home late. Thomas is taking the bus so make sure he gets home in one piece. We're going out to dinner tonight to Chef Rose's so be ready by 7:30. Your dad and I will be home short before to get ready, but don't be late. You know how your father hate's that. I will see you tonight, and dress nicely. We do NOT have time to wait while you change" she rambled on, and I sighted deep.
I totally forgot about the dinner plans tonight.
"Mom, I can't come" I said, knowing that if I was going to turn around the point she would be even madder.
"What. No. You are coming young lady" she said, her heels ticking away over the wooden floor.
"Mom, I can't. I have a date" I said again.
My mom's eyes nearly bulged out of her head, as the ticking stopped and she froze on the spot.
"A date? With who?" Her face lit up, and for a second she was the nice mom that came to the surface every once in a while. All the drama, work, hurry and anger went away, and she became this sweet, loving mother.
"This guy that is in my music class" I explained, resting my hands on the back of the couch.
"Oeh, tell me more" she said eagerly, parading over and dropping down on the couch next to me.
"You remember the guy I had a run in with?" I asked. Her eyes grew wider as she stared at me, the wheels in her head spinning.
"Oh. The famous famous guy? I didn't know he was in your music class" she said, furrowing her eyebrows. I smiled lightly.
"Yeah. He is. I got pared up with him for the end of the year assignment, and he turned out to be quit okay". I never been this honest with my mom before, on anything, and I could see that it was taking her by surprise to. She smiled sweetly, crossing her legs.
