Chapter 16

Julianna’s P.O.V.

Somehow the days that past went fast. Thomas was quiet, Jake was back to university, and my mom and dad spent all their time working, like old times. The house went on like it always did, and people left me alone.

Thank god.

Xander and Noëll had been making up more dream scenario’s after I told them what happened with Niall, but I didn’t find them as annoying.

I didn’t felt the need to fan girl, but to have two goofie friends making up scenario’s took my mind of what had happened, and gave me the opportunity to go along with it. I couldn’t let them know how much I already cared, but this gave me a way to get it out of my system, while they thought I was just joking along. Sometimes having crazy friends helped. Sometimes…

I was thinking about telling Jake about it all. Even though we hadn’t really talked more since our conversation on the balcony, but I wanted him to know. He was my brother, and I wanted somebody close to me to know. Dad would never understand. He would argue with me. Tell me that a boy would only distract me from schoolwork, and take me down the wrong path. That he’ll influence me in a bad way, and I don’t need more distractions in my life. Mom would only make a deal out of it. I was her only daughter, and the only time she could talk about boys with someone was with me. She would be al gloomy and overly happy, asking me about every single detail about the guy. Then she would proceed to have ‘the talk’. And I absolutely did not want to have the talk with her. It would be without a doubt, the most embarrassing moment of my life. Thomas. I wouldn’t even consider telling him about a boy. Maybe when he was older. 20 years older. And maybe not even then. When that happens I’ll just let Jake tell him.

My feet were tapping on the floor of the classroom, as the pen in my hand scribbled random little figures on the notebook in front of me. I was staring at a little dot on the paper, while my hand did as it felt like. Mrs. Halder was walking back and forth at the front of the classroom, talking about something from the past. That’s what history teachers do, right?

“Cut it out” Xander whisper-yelled at me, placing his hand on my knee to keep my feet from bouncing up and down.

“Sorry” I whispered, and pouted my lips. Xander rolled his eyes but smiled soon after.

“You’re forgiven” he whispered back, and I grinned. He couldn’t stay mad at me for very long. Always a plus.

Mrs. Halder’s voice echoed loudly through the room, making both of our head snap to the front.

“We have 10 minutes left. Pair up and discus your project. I want to know who your partnering with, your topic and your main question at the beginning of the next class. Those who don’t, be prepared for an F or a lot of extra work. Your choice” she announced. I sighted deep, looking over towards Xander.

“Key. Us two, topic; Roman Empire, main topic; how did the romans live” Xander announced. My eyebrows went up as I stared at him in surprise.

“Don’t be all surprised. My brother did the same thing. He said Mrs. Halder loves romans so we’ll just make something out of it. We’ll make a mini scale of what their houses looked like, write down some crap and we’ll be done” he explained.

I chuckled softly and nodded. “Fine, write it down, and turn it in. We’ll be done for today” I grinned.

Xander nodded and ripped out a piece of paper form his notebook, scribbling down what he just said and made his way towards the front of the room.  He had a little swing in his step, and it made me laugh every time. He was so gay.
