'Julianna Anderson. Get your ass out of bed right now. School starts in half an hour and you aren't even dressed yet'.

A shrieking voice was yelling at me from inches away and annoyed I opened my eyes. My mother was standing next to my bed, angry and arms crossed. A sight slipped my mouth and I pulled the pillow back over my head. ‘Oh no, young lady. You slept long enough’. And with that she pulled of the pillow and my cover. ‘Get up, get dressed and be down in 10’. Satisfied she took the pillow and cover with her, leaving me on my bed.

Welcome to my life. This, what you just witnessed, was how I woke up almost every day. If it wasn’t my mom, it would be my brother who took over the job of waking me up . And that my friends, was not fun.

Last week I was asleep 3 minutes after the alarm went off, and ended up being woken up by a freezing cold shower. My brother had grinned satisfied while I threw the ice cubes towards his head. ‘Should’ve woken up’ he said. Luckily at that point I succeeded in my mission and one of the ice cubes hit his cheek. ‘Mom’ he yelled and left my room. 10 seconds later I was sound asleep again.

'Julianna. Get up' my mom once again yelled from downstairs and sighting I got up.  School was one of the least favorite things I liked to do, but luckily it’s Friday.

That meant only one thing. I had to survive 4 hours of school, and then I had weekend. Finally.

After searching for a pair of jeans, a t-shirt and some sneakers I went into the bathroom to do my hair. Giving the fact that I was already late, I would have to skip showering this morning. I quickly went with a brush through my brown hair to make sure it didn’t stick out all over the place and then applied some mascara.

Everything in total took me under 5 minutes and when I was back in my room I quickly packed my back. Luckily there were only 2 classes today so I didn’t need that many books.

Downstairs my younger brother was playing a shooting game on the tv, while my mom was talking to my brother.

‘Nice to see you to Jules’ My brother said grinning.

‘Thanks Jake’ I said sarcastically. ‘He, weren’t you supposed to be at your dorm. I thought you were staying there until tonight’. I was so looking forward to having the house to myself this afternoon, but I guess with Jacob home that wouldn’t be the case. Smiling he nodded.

‘Yeah, That was supposed to be the case, but my classes of today got canceled so I thought I’d pay my sister a visit’. Smiling he laid an arm around my shoulder. Grinning I shook my head and then walked to the other side of the kitchen to make breakfast.

Even though my parents didn’t hide the fact that Jacob was the better son, kind of their favorite, Jake and I had a pretty good relationship, unlike mine with Thomas. Maybe it was because between me and Jake was only 2 years, and me and Thomas 5 years. Anyway, Thomas was still an annoying little monster.

‘Jules, I asked you something’. My mom brought me back to the kitchen.

‘What?’. ‘I asked how long you were going to take on making that sandwich, ‘cause you need to be in school in 15 minutes’. I lifted my shoulders and stuffed the sandwich in my mouth. ‘I dogh noh’ I said with my mouth full. My mom shook her head in disapproval and went back to chopping vegetables.

My brother jumped up. ‘Come on. I’ll drive you’. Grinning he grabbed the keys from the counter. My mom turned around and smiled. ‘Ah Jake, that nice. Thank you’. See what I mean.

Jake was already in the car by the time I walked out of the front door and head shaking I got in. ‘Jeez, lighten up will you’ Jake said while he drove off. I sighted. ‘Not in the mood Jake, not in the mood’. A quick glance over to me said enough to make him quiet for the rest of the ride.

After 5 long minutes we arrived at my school, and I got my bag of the back seat. ‘Thanks for driving me’.

Jake smiled. ‘You’re welcome sis. Want me to pick you up? I was going to hang out with the guys but..’

I shook my head. ‘No, that’s okay. I’ll just take the bus’. Jacob nodded and with the bell on the background I got out of the car. ‘Bye bro’ I yelled and then took off into the school.

The books for the first class were already in my bag, so it was just a sprint to the classroom. Luckily I was just in time.

One of the boots in the back of the room was still open en quickly I slid in.

The teacher started talking and I zoned out. Something I did easily.
