Chapter 7 –  guessing who..

I quickly set the bar, getting that job out of the way. Every time we ate take-out, we used the bar to place everything on. I placed some plates, cutlery and some glasses on it and then walked back towards the couch. I grabbed my laptop on the way towards it and made myself comfortable in the corner of the couch. I zapped through the channels, looking for something interesting, but all I saw was little kids show, and home shopping channels. Not exactly what I was looking for.

It took me a while to figure out that the signing wasn’t coming from my laptop but from my phone, and quickly I fished it from under my leg. Xander appeared on the screen and I quickly opened his text.

He, wanna Skype? I’m bored. Xannie

I grinned. Alexander was one of my best friends, but because his name was so long we shorted it Xander. Well everybody did that. Eventually we made it to Xannie, and even he used that.

Grinning I opened the Skype page and filled out the password. The famous zoof sound went off and my personal page opened. It didn’t took long for a green phone to appear on the screen and smiling I accepted. Xanders smirk appeared seconds later.

‘Ello Love’ he said, trying his best British accent.

I laughed and shook my head while I pushed a button in the top corner, making his face appear on the full screen.

‘Hello. Bored again?’.

He nodded.

‘Jup. I’m not in a homework mood so I thought I’d just talk to you. I saw on twittah that you tweeted Niall Horan. What was that about’.

I grinned and started to explain the story. By the time I finished, Xander was jumping up and down like a little kid on Christmas morning.

‘I can’t believe it. The one time I am not in school, something exiting happens’.

I grinned.

‘I’ll tell you all about it tonight. You’re coming to movie night to right?’ I asked.

Xander nodded and flicked the little hair he had on his head to the back. I smiled. Such a gay move.

‘Yes I am. Please say you are in charge of the cookies. Last time Shauna brought those awful ones’ he sighted.

I grinned again. Talking to Xander always made me feel good and happy.

But that reminded me. Get cookies.

‘Yup I am. You?’.

‘Ice cream. Any orders?’

I smiled. ‘The usual’.

Xander nodded smiling.

‘Ke, well. I’m gonna go to the store, get ice cream and then get ready. It’s at Noell’s right?’ He said.

I nodded smiling, and after waving we hung up. Grinning I closed the laptop and pushed it off of my lap. Xander was weird, but he always had this amusing glow over himself. He and Noell were the only ones who could make me laugh when I was crying, and I was so glad they always did

It took a second for me to get the link between the girl that tweeted, and the girl I ran into in the hallway. They were the same person.

For once luck was on my side.

I knew she didn’t know that I was the person she was going to work with, and I really hoped that she wouldn’t be disappointed. I knew I wasn’t.

Mr. Condor led me around in the empty music room while Paul went to grab a bite to eat. And I had to admit, for a school room, it looked pretty awesome. There was this old green school board hanging from the left wall, with a teacher’s desk in front of it. There were tables set up in a circle and the back wall was made out of glass.  There was a big drum kit standing in the back, and from the wall where the door is, where hanging almost a dozen guitars.

‘Wanna give one a go?’ Mr. Condor asked and I grinned.

My eyes wandered around the wall with guitars, and finally picked one of the simple looking guitars. Mr. condor laughed as I took a seat on one of the chairs behind me.

‘What?’ I asked curious. My fingers strummed the guitar, tuning it perfectly by hearing and then I looked up. Mr. Condor shook his head.

‘Nothing. Just the girl you are going to play with, Julianna, doesn’t play with anything else than her guitar or this one’. He pointed towards the guitar in my hands and I grinned. That girl had good taste.

‘Well, looks like I should be bringing my own guitar then’ I said and started strumming some simple tunes.

~~ 1 hour later ~~

‘Can you tell me something about Julianna, so I can prepare?’ I asked curious. Mr. Condor had spent the first half hour of me being here listening to me playing random songs, and then explained what the assignment for the upcoming weeks would be.

Mr. Condor laughed and nodded, shoving the paper in front of him a little to the side.

‘Well, she’s your age, 18, and a great musician. She’s kind of a shy girl to strangers, but music is a big outlet for her so. She writes songs, or used to at least. I don’t know if she does it now, but she’s really good at making up own music pieces. One of the big reasons why we linked her with you. She’s just flying through this class, so I decided to make it a little more of a challenge for her’.

I nodded, taking everything in. I hope she was nice, and not a drama queen or something. I was actually looking forward to this assignment right now, and I was desperately hoping this girl wouldn’t screw it up again.

‘So, any other questions?’.

Mr. Condor woke me up from my little daydream. I looked around and then shook my head.

‘Nope, I’m good’.

‘Good. Then I think we are done here. If you think of anything you want to know, just give me a call and otherwise I’ll see you on Monday at 2’.

At that point the door opened again and Paul appeared.

‘Perfect timing’ Mr. Condor said while Paul entered the classroom.

Paul grinned and I quickly got up, placing the guitar back on the wall.

After exchanging some words, Paul shook Mr. Condor’s hand and then followed me out of the classroom.

‘So, how was it?’. Paul’s voice was filled with a hint of curiosity, and I chuckled. I vaguely lifted my shoulders as we walked out of the school building. I pulled my hoody up again, covering a part of my face, hoping no one had seen me.

Even though I was going to school for the upcoming weeks, it didn’t mean that the people here would except met this easily. Still plenty of fans that walked around here.

‘It was okay. At least they have nice guitars here’ I answered.

Paul grinned, and unlocked the big black SUV that was standing against the curve. Quickly I got in, letting my hoody fall down my back.

‘Ke. We are going straight to the studio. The other lads are already waiting to start recording’.

A sight slipped my mouth. I knew the guys would question me the second I would enter the studio, even though they knew I would hate it. The fact that I didn’t and ran into a girl, I was willing to keep quiet.

At that point, I realized that they must have seen my tweet. Oh crap.
