Weird Vibes

"My sister Damara is a wannabe Japanese." Aradia blatantly explained to the two dumbfounded teens, jaws slightly dropped.
"私を試してみて" Damara argued in response, resulting to Aradia just shrugging. She probably didn't understand the language, maybe memorizing a few phrases, but aside that Aradia's knowledge of Japanese was just as good as Terezi and Karkat.
"You might as well tick her off even more." Sollux muttered after as of now, not being acknowledged properly. Aradia just shrugged him off too, she seemed pretty chill about everything happening.

Terezi and Karkat, were not so chill about it. Karkat hadn't been through much culture shock. Even with the fact that he was living on the streets, where you could bump into just anyone for that matter. The only other language he's heard was gibberish, spoken by the drunken men or woman stumbling around and leaning on walls at the crack of dawn. Let alone that, she'd actually have the time to practise another language. Not that it's bad but, you'd think the woman would have different interests. Maybe it was some weird fetish, he didn't know or give anything about it. But still, maybe he was caught off guard with this misunderstanding.

Terezi was both surprised and fascinated. Surprised at the fact that the Megido family spread their wings extremely out when it came to hobbies. Aradia liked corpse parties and her sister was obsessed with Japanese stuff like anime. She didn't know but she figured Damara was probably wearing Japanese inspired clothes too, she's probably a whole package of artificial Japan. But that kind of left her astonished. I mean, you don't see a normal westerner speaking a different language that doesn't even apply to them everyday. It was...rad.
She stuck her tongue out for a second, Latula was rubbing off of her.

"Terezi how about you visit the community center with me?" Aradia asked before taking a bite of her hash brown, she seemed to not care about the two teens still adjusting.  Terezi just blinked a bit before nodding.
"I'm up for it." She took another bite into her pancake. Some syrup being left at the corner of her mouth, which may I add did a certain male stare at it for a while. Until Damara kicked him from under the table, motioning him to do something about it, which he didn't.
I can guarantee you it wasn't Captor.
Sollux at one point pulled out his phone, he couldn't care less about what everyone was talking about. They soon finished breakfast.

Damara left after that, she recited something in Japanese and took off. The teens walked down the sidewalk, Sollux still on his phone.

"Did you have a cane back home?" Aradia asked Terezi, who walked behind her and Karkat. She shrugged.
"It was just a metal stick with some red on it."
"Wanna get a new one?" The Aries asked, pointing at a store across the street. Apparently selling canes and other necessities.
"Don't worry, my job pays good. Consider it a gift." Aradia added, before the Libra could reply at all.
And so they entered the store.

A middle aged woman sat at the counter, indulging herself in a magazine about lifestyle. She had a half up half down bun, dirty blonde hair and a bored expression. Probably didn't want to be there. A little bell was on the door, it jingled whenever you'd open it. Made the place more of nuisance to her too. She didn't greet the teens.

They scrolled around the store, deciding to split up. Aradia grabbed Terezi's arm and dragged her around the place. Sollux stayed in a corner finishing up a level on the game he was strategically playing for the past hour and Karkat silently wandered.
Aradia suggested the odd ones to be honest, she described every cane like it was a job.
"Brown, wooden feeling, plain." Or something along the lines of that.
It was Karkat who actually found something interesting.
"Hey!" He hollered from another isle, the two girls strolled up to the guy who had both hands in his pockets and slumped shoulders.
"Red and silver, dragon head on top." The boy announced, the same way Aradia did as he heard her say stuff in that format over and over. He flicked his head over to a cane that was just as he said. Aradia pulled it out, handing it to the Libra who traced her fingers along it and nodded.
"I like it." Was all she said as Aradia quickly snatched it from her and handed the money to the bored lady at the counter. Terezi walked with it on the way, no longer using Karkat as a somewhat guide or something lean on.

They arrived at the community centre only to realize that the kids only came on weekdays after school. It was a weekend. They sat at a table in their little seating area, Terezi with her head in her hands and leaning on the table.
Sollux and Karkat rambled on about something, Aradia sometimes pitching into the conversation. Terezi was supposed to be listening but for some reason everything was muffled, not that it worried her. She was glad muting them out was an option, instead of listening to another rant of Karkat Vantas. But the muffling turned to yelling, which turned to screaming, and it was all projected by the angry Vantas. By now she worried, because she relied on her hearing to see. Maybe she could try something else.
She wished she could do something, but suddenly she felt as if she were falling. But the teen didn't know how or where she was dropping rapidly, she just was.

With a quick jolt she awoke in a cold sweat, something wrapped around her legs as her arms wrapped around something else. The teen squirmed around while breathing heavily, only to be scolded.
"Relax Tez, Jegus, you're on my back. I've been piggybacking you for the past ten minutes because you fell asleep at the the community centre. And calm the shit down, I might drop you. " Karkat's hoarse voice shot at her, she sighed.
It was just a dream. Not like it was a nightmare but that was weird.
"What's up with you?" Karkat asked, she could feel his every step.
"Nothing. Just had a weird dream." She muttered, muffling her face in the teens back, his sweater drenched in his scent. It was comforting.
"Huh. Weird." Was all he responded with, the walk to the alleyway was silent. But a good silence, as Terezi fell back asleep. The smell of Karkat evening out her dreams.
Karkat walked the whole trip with her on his back, he wasn't as weak as his body implied. He had Terezi's cane gripped in his hand, tapping the ground occasionally. To be honest, he was glad Terezi got the cane he suggested. No particular reason why. But he was in a good mood all because of that. They arrived at the alleyway shortly.
He didn't even bother to wake Terezi up, but gently laid her on a sweater of his, as if that avoided the bumpy feel of concrete ground. He sat down against the other side of the narrow path with his knees to his chin. The boy stared at the other teen until he got up and wiped the syrup that still lingered by the corner of her mouth with his thumb. Satisfied, he laid down, still staring at the sleeping face of Terezi Pyrope.

They were weird teens. With weird dreams and a weird taste in style.
