"Honestly..." Karkat trailed on, scratching his head. They were walking down a street, hand in hand. One to guide and one to follow.
"I leave you alone and you cause trouble." He complained, his voice in an annoyed tone.
"Oh my gog Karkat. You're not my mom. Besides, all I did was eat soup and shit happened." She answered, her feet dragging along.
"Well what if they saw you? What if they found out you were with me? What would I become of?" He ranted, Terezi groaned.
"What if, what if, what if" She mocked. "It's late Karkles, gimme a break." She held on his arm and leaned on him as they walked, receiving a lot of complaints from the the grumpy Vantas. They reached the alleyway, sitting on either edge in silence. The ground was too wet to lie on, so leaning on the wall was their only option. At least only their bottoms got wet. Though, it wasn't so comfortable.
"Hey." Terezi mumbled, she had tried her best to be comfy in her spot, but the brick wall wasn't much of a help. "Let me lean on your shoulder." She said.
"What?" Karkat asked, like Terezi, he was tired and uncomfortable. Without further arguments, Terezi got up and sat next to the sleepy Vantas. She leaned on his bony shoulder, falling asleep. Soon enough Karkat would fall asleep too, leaning his head on Terezi's. That night was peaceful.

~~~~~~~~
Terezi woke up to the sound of honking, angry drivers not so far from here were cursing at each other. About work and stress, blah blah. She assumed it was morning, the same old bitter coffee filled the air. Karkat was still sleeping. Grinning, she found where his face was at, feeling every nook and cranny. This was the closest she could get to what he looked like. He was bony and pale, eyebags forming and lips chapped. Other than that, he seemed fine. She bunched up his cheeks inward, making his lips pucker. She laughed while doing it, he probably looked silly. There could've been more laughs but.
"Terezi wtf" Karkat was able to mumble, his eyes shot open and his brows furrowed as usual. Terezi just let go of him and put her hands in her pockets.
"I just wanna know what you're face looks like. I have a feeling it's ugly" She grinned.
Karkat rolled his eyes, he averted his attention to something else.
"Hey" He stood up. "There's a paper bag taped to the wall." He grabbed it.
"Really? What's in it?" She sat crossed legged, waiting for an answer.
"Apples. Two of them. And a note from Aradia."
Dear Terezi and Karkat,
I've managed to find out where your little home is. I was planning to wake you two up, but you seemed so peaceful. I hope this is enough for breakfast, Sollux chose the biggest apples he could find. Oh, and Terezi, you should visit the community centre on Main St. so you can sign up for the job. I help there too, so I'll be there. Well, have fun eating!
Btw, Karkat if your reading this, I just wanted to say that you're crazy. Bye.
From: Aradia and Sollux.
"Wow." Karkat said after reading the note aloud. "You can even tell who wrote which part. Asshole" He said, handing an apple to Terezi.
"Do you know where Main Street is?" She asked, the taking a bite out of her apple.
"Yeah I'll take you there. We can go soon." She nodded to his reply.
"What's your favourite colour?" Terezi asked, rolling the fruit in her hand.
"I don't have one. Why were you asking?"
She shrugged. "I felt like it. Mine is red. Like this apple" She exclaimed.
"Well okay. Just stop rolling it, it's distracting." He said, doing the unasked favor to just play along. The apple was a light tone of green, not red.
"You ask a lot of stupid questions" He said, raising his hand up to her head, planning to pat it in a friendly way, but he pulled away before reaching her head. At least she wasn't able to detect his actions. The blind girl just took a bite into her apple, shrugging to herself.
"You...didn't get any luck did you?" She asked, breaking the silence.
"Oh yeah, I didn't." He answered, looking down. Honestly, it was his fault that he had no jobs. He managed to offend every manager before even introducing himself.
"I was gonna ask sooner, but you didn't mention it at all so I just left it alone." She shrugged.
"Well shit." He took a bite into his apple.
--------
"What do you think Terezi's doing?" A woman asks, sitting at the kitchen table.
"I dunno mom, I thought you didn't care about her." The daughter answers, washing the dishes with a wet rag, she stares out the window.
"You're right, I don't care about her. But if she was able to make money, I'd take her back." The mother answers, a bored expression plastered on her face.
"Not rad mom, so not rad." The daughter shook her head, face with disappointment.
"Just shut up and clean" The mom swatted her hand left to right. The daughter scowling.
W|N I want apples now. Such wise words amirite. Enjoy tho!
