Nothing

"It's like you don't know it's already been a week." The male mindlessly said aloud, ready to trail on and on. Terezi just shrugged, she wasn't keeping track of time.
"You think I'd leave? We're about to have a home in a week." She replied, keeping the atmosphere intact.
"You mean you're about to have a home in a week." The word you're was almost bolded, even though it was a verbal conversation. It felt bolder than the rest of the words that escaped Karkat's lips, mostly since it meant a more important meaning.

Karkat wasn't planning on staying.

The whole deal was whether Terezi would stay or leave by the end of the week, but in the end it was Karkat.

"What do you mean by that?" The female had grown impatient, her brows furrowed and her jaw clenched. The male sighed.

"We're not healthy together Tez, you know that. I throw verbal shit at you almost everyday and you take it in like it doesn't matter. Once you move in with your sister, I'm out for good." He explained, avoiding eye contact.
"This is an example of verbal shit! Leaving me will not fix things! You think you can just be all wise guy and leave me alone?! You think you're smart? Bullshit." She spat, utter disgust in her face as Karkat flinched at her every scream, her voice cracking aggressively.
"Terezi I'm sorry it's just-"
"Sorry, my ass! Karkat I've met many people in my life but you're the only one that I am dying to see. See what you do to me!?" She screamed all in all, the last one she'd say tonight. After that everything fell silent as Terezi's head hung low, her bangs covering her face. It wasn't long until Karkat got up from his seat.

Their hug was awkward. You couldn't tell what it supposed to mean. A heartfelt sorry, a reassurance, a goodbye. But it happened, Terezi sitting at the edge of the bed with her legs hanging off and Karkat kneeling infront of her. He kneeled there for a while, staring at her pained expression as she had no idea he was right infront of her. She did once he pulled her into a hug, though her arms hung at their sides as she lay her head back. He whispered apologies into her sweater as she sat there numb.

Like nothing. She felt like nothing.

She felt like nothing. But she didn't not feel anything. The phrase of feeling nothing was incorrect, because Pyrope felt something. She felt a lot of somethings. It was as if all emotions were just piled up in her stomach, but because of not being able to do anything about it did she feel like nothing. She didn't belong in this world. Her reincarnation was a couple years too early, resulting to her fate having to meet Karkat Vantas. Oh how she wished to not meet him, and not suffer the feeling of pure nothingness.

She did not deserve this. Terezi Pyrope did not deserve to have to deal with life. She wished to have died a young death as Vantas lived on. She wished to have not needed him. She wished.
The girl did not deserve to have to deal with her feelings either. The longing to see what Karkat really looked like, every nook and cranny. It wasn't fair. It wasn't fair because all along they were in a red quadrant but just wasn't aware of it. She cursed herself for not being keen enough. Everything just hurt.

The female began to cry when the male let out a cry. That was also when she wrapped her arms around the boy and dropped her head into his shoulder. It was silent, just tears streaming down faces or staining sweaters. As the rain made a soft pitter patter and the world moved on. They could've lived better lives. Lives in which they were just good friends and just enjoyed each other's company with a roof under their head and enough food to eat in the morning.

But alas, the world does not know of the word fair. And the two teens who cried into each other's shoulders wouldn't get their happy ending easy.
Even if Terezi cursed the world for its wrong bearings.
Even if Karkat wished and wished for a better life for the two.

Even if the judge demanded order in the court.
