Mitch's POV

I woke up in a strange room, alone. A young woman, probably in her mid-twenties or thirties walked in.
"Mitch, I'm happy to see you're awake"
"Thank you. Um, do you know what happened? All I remember was that I was hiding and when I finally got up to go back to my bunk and my friends, the one guy I hated was behind me"
"Well, from what I've heard, he tackled you and broke your leg, then slammed your head into a tree"
"Oh. Um, who are you and where am I?"
"Oh, sorry, I'm Ariel and we are in room 1 in the infirmary."
"Thank you Ariel"
"No problem, do you need anything?"
"Um, no I don't think so" I pulled my phone out of my pocket, it was dead. Ariel was practically out of the room. "Ariel?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you have a phone charger? Mine's dead"
"Yeah, I'll grab it"

Scott's POV

I woke up the next morning before reveille and looked to the empty bed next to me. He said he would come, he didn't, I just hope Travis didn't get to him. Reveille blew loud and clear. We all got up to see that Mitch wasn't here. Everyone looked at me nervously.
"He said he'd come back! He promised. I bet that asshole Travis found him. I know he wouldn't break a promise like that" I said. I didn't care if anyone was listening. It didn't matter. I just had to say it. Tell someone. Cry, I really needed to cry. I started sobbing, and felt someone sit next to me on my bed. I couldn't look up.
"Scott, everything's going to be okay, trust me. Also your phone's ringing"
"Who is is?" I asked, looking up.
"Mitch, you might want to answer it"
"Yeah thanks"
I took the phone and answered.
"Mitch?"
"Hey..."
"Are you okay?"
"Um, yeah, I've been better though"
"Me too"
"Look I'm sorry, you're mad, I promised I'd come, I didn't, I tried and failed."
"Mitch, I'm not mad. I was very worried when you didn't show and when you weren't at the bunk when we got back or this morning, I can't be mad at you for being scared"
"Thanks Scott, that means a lot"
"Okay, where are you"
"The infirmary"
"What happened? It was Travis wasn't it!?"
"Well I was walking back to the bunk and he found me. He tackled me, and slammed my head into a tree"
"How bad is it?"
"Well, my leg is broken and face is pretty swollen and bruised, and I'm pretty sure I won't be leaving the infirmary today. What's the trip this week?"
"We are going to see a movie and hang out at the mall, shopping and stuff, but if you can't go, I would rather spend the day in the infirmary with you"
"You don't have to"
"But I want to"
"You really want to?"
"Yes. Mitch, I'm not sure if you know this but I love you"
"I love you too. Thanks, I couldn't ask for a better boyfriend"
"I'll see you after breakfast"

Kirstie's POV

"So? Where, how, who" I asked Scott as he hung up the phone.
"Infirmary, Travis tackled and shoved his head into a tree, broken leg, bruised and swollen face, not leaving infirmary all day. Oh, also I'm staying in the infirmary with him"
"Aw poor baby, can I join you guys?"
"Of course, I bet he'd love it"

Kevin's POV

I felt so bad about Mitch. He didn't deserve that. I talked with Avi on the way to breakfast and we decided to go on the trip and to not crowd Mitch.
We got on the bus, but the ride seemed boring compared to last week.
When we arrived we found out our movie choices: Inside Out, Zootopia, or The Boss.
I decided on Inside Out because I haven't seen it yet. Avi decided to watch it with me.

Avi's POV

Kevin really wanted to see Inside Out and I wanted to watch the movie with him. So I decided to watch it for what felt like the millionth time, but it's a good movie so I'm not comparing.

Scott's POV

Kirstie and I walked into Mitch's room in the infirmary. The room was so sad and Mitch didn't look good. Half of his face was swollen and bruised, his eye was almost swollen shut. His crutches were resting against the wall in the corner. His leg had a cast on it and was propped up on a pillow. A woman walked in with Mitch's breakfast.
"You got some  visitors, do you guys want anything?" She asked
"Um, I don't think so, Kirst?"
"Yeah, I'm good"
"Awesome, Mitch I'll be back in 20 to check on you. Oh, I'm Ariel by the way"
"Awesome"
As soon as Ariel left we were silent, we just didn't know what to say. It was the first time I was with Mitch that felt awkward and I didn't like it.
"So, Kirst, how was the show last night?" Mitch asked
"It was good, fun"
"Awesome"
Mitch moved over
"Scott, come here" he said
I walked over to Mitch. He patted the space next to him. When I sat down he smiled.
"Can I kiss you?" He asked
"Of course, I would've, but I didn't want to hurt you"
We kissed and it was magical. The smile on Mitch's face afterwards was priceless although it didn't last long.
The rest of the day just seemed to happen. There was no more uncomfortable silence, conversation flowed. By the end of the day we were all exhausted and went back to the bunk and instantly fell asleep, without showering, and totally missing canteen.
