~ Levi's POV ~
I don't move from my spot, not one bit, listening intensively at everything he tells me. It's true he doesn't have parents and it's true he's poor but what got me was everything else from his sister's death, to his best friend's death then to to constant bullying from Jean. There are so many horrid people on this Earth.
"Eren?" I ask as he's now looking off into the distance.
"Hm?"
"One more question" He nods for me to carry on "You're in my lesson's, all of them, yet I never seen you. How's that?" He looks slightly shocked.
"How do you know?"
"Know what?"
"That I'm in you're lesson's"
"Well..." Yes, well we looked through your school report without permission, good one Levi! "You see...we...well"
"Looked through my school report's" I was taken back by him finishing my sentence but more taken back that he knew.
"How did you-"
"It was Jean wasn't it?"
"Pardon" Jean? What's he got to do with this?
"You was there when he read to everyone, out loud, my school report" Might as well play along.
"Yes...yes I was" He nods sadly. "But you didn't answer my question, why I never see you at school"
"I have 'things' to do" He said bluntly.
"'Things'?"
"And there's Jean as well" He quickly adds in trying to change the subject "He's always threatening me and all that so - Um - most times I'm in the - Um- Library or Toilets, yeah!"
"What's the 'thing' you're talking about?"
"Oh things...well" He stops and begins shaking his head, wavy his hands in the air laughing nervously "Thing's? Did I say things? Oh silly me, ignore that" He then quickly takes a sip of his drink avoiding my eyes.
"Eren? Answer my question" I ordered "Now" He flinched at my harsh tone.
"There's nothing to be told"
"Eren" I'm standing now, cup tightly in my grip that it might just shatter in my hand "Answer, what is the 'thing'?.. What 'thing' makes you late for class? What 'thin-" He cut me off yelling.
"The 'thing' is none of your business! Without this 'thing' I wouldn't be able to survive! Without this 'thing', without doing this...." He stopped looking down at his knees, not crying, just breathing, breathing far too fast.
"Eren what is this 'thing' you're on about?" I say softly placing my half full cup down and sitting beside him. "I'm all ears".
