Eren's messed up life (Levi x Eren)

"Thanks...."

~ Eren's POV ~

He sits not breaking the silence which I'm thankful for as I think about ways in which I am to tell him about my 'thing' of a job. I catch him now and then shuffling from left to right waiting patiently for an answer but I know none is going to come anytime soon.

"Eren you know you can trust me right?"

I'm taken back by his nice gesture but ignoring it, nodding and carry on in my deep thinking. I know I can't tell him what I do as I'll probably scare him off and that's the one thing I don't want to happen so I turn back to him.

"Okay so this job" I've now finished my drink and have placed it besides my feet "OK so I work for a big company there's- um - it's a cleaning job"

"Cleaning?" I nod approving of what he said.

"Yep, my boss picks me up now and then for the odd job here and there" I gulp as I feel his eyes staring through me. "And... I don't get paid"

"Wait why are you doing a job that you're not getting paid for?" I wave my hands around, fake smiling.

"No-no let me carry on" he nods his face full of concern "So they don't pay me but they're the ones who rent out the flat for me and pay for my food so-"

"So?"

"Oh that's it.. I get picked up, clean someone's house, get given enough food to survive and yeah-" I see Levi's face has now gone back to being emotionless and he grabs the cup from my foot and stands, heading to the kitchen.

"Thank you for telling me Eren" His voice sounds slightly sarcastic but I pretend I didn't hear it and slouch back in the comfy sofa.

"That's okay, thank you for...well...saving me I guess"

"Anytime" I let out a sigh of relief as he exits the room off through the kitchen.

I ended up falling asleep on the sofa only to be waken up by the light shaking of my shoulder by Levi.

"Eren, hey Eren?" Shuffling under him I groan slowly, tiredly open my eyes. "Dinners ready, you coming?" I sniff making my taste buds tingle. "Lasagna, hope that's alright?" I nod eagerly as he hold out a hand to me.

Once in his kitchen we sit, both me and him at either ends of the table, and dig in to our dinner. I've got to say he's an amazing cook, the last time I had a cooked meal was when my sister was still alive and this by far has beat her.

"It's amazing Levi, where did you learn to cook like this?" He chuckles and takes another big bit of his dinner before replying.

"I've lived alone for a while brat, I taught myself over time" I smile over at him, him finishing off his last  mouthful, smiling at me. After several more bites of my dinner, I'm full. Hands on belly, back against chair I groan at how full I am making him laugh. "For someone as skinning as you, you sure eat a lot" I growl then ease up.

"I can't help it, I didn't want to waste one bit!" He laughs again, standing, taking my plate with him. "Wait" I call to him "I'll do that!"

"No It's fine-"

"No! It's the least I can do after you being so generous" Quickly, without giving him time to argue back, I take the plates from his hands and head to the sink.

"Eren?..."

"Hum?" I reply busy with scrubbing clean one of the used plates.

"How about you stay the night?" I nearly dropped the plate from my hands as I spun around, plate still in hands, to face Levi, getting water over the floor as I did so "Gosh you such a messy brat" He whined.

"Oh my I'm so sorry" I said panicking drying my hands before getting some kitchen roll and getting on my knees to clean the water I had spilled "I-I"

"Tch" I look up at a red faced Levi.

"Levi?" I asked as he looked away only for him to click his tongue his face becoming even more flustered. "Are you okay?"I ask with worry in my voice standing up and whipping my hand while putting the well kitchen roll in the bin "Oi look at me" I ordered as he glared over at me.

"What!" I jumped at the sudden seriousness of his voice before looking down.

"It's-it's nothing" I stuttered out.

"You never answered me" He spoke out of the blue to which I gave him a confused look to "If you wanted to stay?"

"I - um - I don't know" I thought hard, did I have work tomorrow? "I don't know if I've got work tomorrow or-" He stopped me, leaving the kitchen as he did.

"I'll take you back in the morning I can't be bothered right now" He stopped walking but carried on talking "I've got a spare toothbrush in the cabinet above the sink and I'll lend you some clothes to sleep in"

"You don't-"

"Tch. Just take the offer brat. Don't waste my time" I nodded as he left.

"Thank you" I called before letting a smile creep to my lips "Thanks..."
