Eren's messed up life (Levi x Eren)

Kindness

~ Eren's POV ~

I had never been given so much kindness and not being able to something back was like my heart was tightening. I know I'm in his way but am I? 

He did just admit it was 'nice' to have me around but the way he's so kind to me makes me wonder if it was a lie just to make me feel better.

Sighing, not out anger or irritation, actually - yes it was irritation.

Irritation that I could do nothing in return.

Irritation of not being able to understand the reasons behind why he's being so nice.

Irritation hit me like a dart as I blinked the thought's away walking back to 'my' bedroom, well as said by Levi - "It was Kenny's but it's yours now, brat". It still felt pretty early to be awake but the clock hanging off the plain bedrooms far wall showing it was nearly 9am.

The sound of someone stepping out the bathroom was heard the stroll past my room and down the stairs into the front-room. Scanning around me I spotted some clothes, given from Levi for me.

With a pair of black ankle socks, tight black jeans, a black plain shirt with a checker overlay I ruffled my messy looking hair, my hand stroking my ugly looking face. 

The mirror laughed at my ugly face as I was sure It'd crack any second but it didn't, which gave me the tiniest bit of confidence, me leaving, standing tall, in search of Levi.

"Looking good brat" Was the first thing he said, my cheeks flushing a deep red at his words looking away "Right just slip these on" He handed me a pair of black high tops "And we'll be on our way"

I gratefully took the shoe's slipping them on, when tying the laces in a one knee knelled position I looked up at him.

"If you don't mind me asking, where are we going?"

But whether he really didn't hear me or was ignoring me, I don't know "Come on, they'll be open by now, I'll see if I can get a discount if you hurry up"

Quickly standing I nod following him out the side door and into a cab waiting out front.

"Thank's" I thanked as he opened the door for me to get in, him beside me.

I took around an hour, an awkward, silent hour - except for the random same talk from the driver and the radio until we pulled from the city of Sina. 

Both stepping out I looked around me in bewilderment. 

Building's so high I was scared they'd topple over and onto me, people running, laughing and talking going up and down the busy streets along with the random car horn going off now and then I started off looking at nothing particular.

"You gonna stand there like a gormless idiot all day or come with me?" He said a hint of sarcasm in his voice, me still wide eyed, mouth open for flies. "Tch. Come on. I don't know when her shifts over"

With no time to come to my senses and hand wrap themselves around my own and dragged me past the busy looking people. Sadly where we were walking o fast I didn't get time to see and observe the view better but that was forgotten when Levi's hand tightened around my own, mine doing the same thing.

"Ah, Levi!" A pretty, average height, blonde hair girl waved over at him from behind the clothes store desk "It's been so long, I thought you'd forgotten about me!"

"Oh I did-" She did an over dramatic look at Levi's smirking face, with her hand placed over her heart "Anyhow, how have you been? It doesn't look busy here, no so good today hey?"

My eyes flicking from one another Levi tugged his hand away from mine, me wanting to sob from its disappearance, to hug move over to the girl.

Small talked passed from the two until the girl peered over Levi's shoulder smiling at me. "And who might you be? Sure haven't seen you around here before though you must be someone important, or close, or his boyfri-"

"Eren meet Carly, Carly meet Eren" His voice raised, his tone stronger like he was warning her "A friend"

Ouch. I hurt when I wasn't his boyfriend, but even worse was the fact that I didn't get the 'close' part before it, thanks!

Something painful hit my chest put biting my bottom lip I leaned over to shake her hand "Nice to meet you Carly" I greeted.

"You too Eren. So what are you boy's looking for today?"

"A new shirt for me and a wardrobe of outfits for Eren over here"

"Wait what? No..no..no I couldn't-"

"Do you really expect you to walk around m-our house in the same clothes everyday? Think again. The size won't be needed, we can do with the shirt size down from mine from how skinny he is" Wow how many insult's do I get in one day "But the trousers will stay the same"

Carly nodded walked on down the store's pathway "OK, just ask for me when you're ready to buy some clothes and I'll get you that discount" She winked at him, me wanting to puke and slap her silly "See you soon Levi"

"You too Carly" Stroking her arm she giggled and ran off as Levi started to look thru the rake of clothes. "OK Eren pick-a-dip"

"Pardon?" I asked confusedly.

His clicking his tongue pulled out a shirt pressing it up against me "It mean's pick anything you like" looking at the shirt against me he look me up and down before nodding "Yep, you're having this one..so trousers next"

I watched him, seem somewhat, excitedly rush around pulling out many different clothes. Me ending up holding a pile of eight outfit's Levi had picked out for me, insisting he'd buy it whether or not I denied.

"I'll make it up to you, I promise, I-I might get a call off my boss and, and then I'll hand you over your money"

He stopped, pause, froze right there before me "Last time you said you had to go back to that filthy house for so-called work you were taken by a load of horrid people coming back beaten and bruised, me still oblivious to who the actual fuck they are and now you're telling me you're going back" He stook his head in disbelief "You're quitting that job, like it or not you're not paying for anything. You're, we're, still at school for fuck sake you don't need to be worrying about that shit just yet"

To be totally honest I knew all his words were the truth so I just looked down at the pile of clothes in my hand, a click of a tongue from Levi before taking them out of my hand. 

At first I thought he was going to put them back from his pissed expression on his face but I stood lost in what to do next.

Still stood I watched him call Carly over, paying for the clothes talking in a deep conversation me only getting bits of "He's cute" - "Boyfriend" and "Make you happy"

"Come on!" Levi called to me, Carly waving him and me a goodbye before waddling over like a duckling to Levi, stood, eyebrow raised "You alright over there?"

"Yes-Yes sorry was just-um-thinking"

"Right anyway.." He began walking out the store me following behind to then stop at yet again somewhere else, this place a coffee shop "Hungry?" I shook my head for a no "To bad, you're eating you haven't eaten in what one, two days now?"

"You don't have to you've done enough-"

"Shut up and come in, I'm not opening the door for you for nothing" In a blink of an eye I stepped in the warm, cozy, homely feeling shop "A black coffee for me and for him..." I stared at him, a dumb expression on my face  "A cheese cake and sweet tea"

"Coming right up sir, names?"

"Ackerman, thanks" The waiter nodded calling out Levi's order out back as we slide onto a two seater table in the corner of the cafe, beside the window enabling me to get a good view of the wild, colorful streets.

Neither making eye contact nor spoke to one another just the beat of his finger tapping away on the table along with almost unheard humming sang on through me showing he was there.

Well this isn't awkward at all......
