Chapter 5 - Cruel and Unusual Punishment

Patience dropped into the chair next to Mark and lowered her face to the desk with a groan.

“What’s up?  Having trouble with the lycanthrope? I hope she believes that all her clothes get torn to shreds when she changes,” He sighed loudly as his eyes lost their focus.

“Mark!” Patience cringed, “You’re having a visual, aren’t you?  Yuck, you are such a pervert!”

Mark blushed and shrugged, “What can I say, your sister is hot.  Even if she is a wolf, she can bite me any day!”

“Ohh please Mark,” Patience’s head jerked up as she spun to face Mark. “You haven’t told anyone have you?”

“Who am I going to tell?”

“Please Mark, don’t even joke about this!  Loyal has threatened to make my life miserable if this gets out.  He thinks it will make us the laughing stock of the school and we will be forced to model the latest fashion in psychiatric gowns and have our hair teased to electrocution height.”

“This is Serenity we are talking about...?”  Mark’s eyebrows lifted, “And you are expecting her to keep a secret?”

“Please don’t remind me!” Patience shook her head, “I’m in trouble Mark.”

“Speaking of trouble,” Mark jutted his head to the front of the classroom.

Patience cringed, guessing what he was looking at.  Her eyes slowly turned to find a set of steely blue ones glaring at her.  

“So we have two new students, umm I’m not actually sure I understand this but you are somehow related to the Lee family?” The teacher was asking as he looked from Patience to Jake and Sam, who Patience only just then noticed.

“Have you been keeping them under your bed Patience,” someone laughed.

“Patience?” Anna turned and laughed with a mocking voice, “What? Under her bed? She would have him holding up the mattress while she slept!  She wouldn’t know what to do with a man but I do!” Anna smiled seductively, “I know exactly what to do with a man like you.”

“Well, given you are the mattress Anna, I don’t doubt that!” Patience scoffed.  “And with every exchange of bodily fluids you get a whiny demanding wantabe girlfriend, but wait there’s more - you also get a free sexual disease for no extra charge!”

“That was one time!” Anna growled back.

“Girls!” the teacher warned.

“Point made,” Patience smiled innocently.

“Well...” Anna huffed in frustration. “At least I can get a guy!”

“Nice come back, very impressive.  News flash Anna, any girl can get a guy if they open their p...”

“Girls!” The teacher shouted this time.

“What?” Patience attempted to look stunned, difficult with a smirk, “I was going to say purse!” 

The teacher glared, Jake’s stared at her through his dark hair which fell to his cheekbones and Sam looked mildly bemused.

“So how are you related?”

“My mother adopted them...” Patience shrugged as she muttered, “Because my family isn’t dysfunctional enough as it is.”

“Well then could you both sit in the desks in front of your... umm sister.”
