CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE
"I am screwed for tomorrow." Jessie said coming into my room. I laughed and looked over at Jade.
"I think we all are." Jade laughed as Jessie fell across my bed.
"I'm sure you two will be fine. You're smart and actually worked for these exams." I smiled and sat up on my bed.
"That's the same for you." Jessie looked at me and smiled.
"I never tried until two months before." I still regret not working harder. And I know tomorrow I'll feel even worse. "But whatever, I don't want to think about exam results until tomorrow. Lets go make some food." I jumped out of my bed and grabbed my phone. Jade, Jessie and I agreed today would be a lazy day before results tomorrow.
"Thank goodness; I'm so hungry." Jessie rolled off my bed and stood to his feet.
"Why didn't you say something?" I laughed and walked down the stairs and into the kitchen.
"Because Ben told me about how you and your dad had a go at him for eating the food in your house."
"I wasn't having a go at him!" I defended turning around to look at him. "If you're hungry I'll get you food. I'm not going to let you starve." I rolled my eyes and started rummaging through my cupboards.
"Speaking of Ben; how's it going between you two?"
I glanced over my shoulder and saw Jessie looking at Jade. I smiled and started taking things out of the cupboard. "He asked me to go out with him on Saturday." Jade replied coming to help me.
"Where are you going?" I looked at her with raised eyebrows.
"I said I couldn't go." She muttered glancing at me.
"What; why?" I was shocked that she basically said no. I thought she really liked him. "I thought you liked him." I stopped what I was doing and turned to face her.
"I do like him," she sighed and looked at me. "But it's better not to start something, than have to finish it later."
I furrowed my eyebrows and looked over at Jessie, who had the same expression as me. "You never know how long it would last. You might not have to finish things." I leant against the worktop and folded my arms across my chest.
"I don't want to start something when I'm going to America in a few weeks." She shrugged and turned to face us.
"Oh," I finally understood why she said no. I should've realised it when Ben said something a few days ago.
"If I start something now, then it won't last long. So there's no point." She smiled slightly, not happy with the situation.
"He might wait for you to come back. He really does like you." I know Ben would probably wait until she came back. He really likes her, so if he knew all he had to do was wait for a few months, I'm positive he would.
