CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

"Your dad and I are going to the hospital today." My mum said as I was doing my makeup. "We won't be back until after five. Can you take Emily and Max to do something? They're still pretty upset about your father."

I sighed and turned around to her. "I'm going out in an hour." I felt bad telling her that. But I hadn't seen Lewis since Friday, and it was Monday. So he said he'd pick me up and take me somewhere. I know that sounds bad, but we had been dating for two weeks now.

"Please Roxy; I don't want them on their own doing nothing." She asked me again. I smiled slightly and nodded.

"Just tell them to be ready in an hour." I saw her smile before I went back to my makeup.

"Thanks Roxy," she said before leaving my room. As she closed the door, I lifted my phone. I dialled Lewis' number, looking through my makeup bag.

"Hey Rox," he answered happily. "Is everything okay?"

"Yeah it's fine. But my parents want me to take my brother and sister out to distract them while they're at the hospital. Do you mind if we do something with them?" I didn't really want to cancel with him. But it's not like they don't get on.

"Of course I don't mind. What I was planning on doing will keep them happy anyway." He agreed without even thinking about it.

"And what did you have planned?" I tried to find out where he was taking me.

"That's a secret Sarky. You'll have to wait and see." He tutted at me. I groaned, earning a laugh from him. "Don't worry, it'll be awesome." He reassured me.

"Okay whatever Lewis." I sounded bored, but I was really excited. "I'll let you go put your makeup on so you can look presentable." I smirked and took my power out of my makeup bag.

"Thanks, I was worrying I'd not have enough time." He played along sarcastically. "But I do need to get a shower. So I'll see you soon. I'll be outside around twelve."

"Right okay," I said finishing off my makeup. I didn't put too much on because I don't like wearing a lot of makeup. "I'll see you soon," I stood up and walked towards my wardrobe.

"See you later," he hung up and I put my phone on a shelf. Now all I have to do is decide what to wear. That's why I wanted Lewis to tell me where we were going. I spotted a pair of distressed denim shorts that went to mid thigh. That's a good start.

"I like the shorts," Lewis whispered in my ear as we stood in line at the zoo. Yes, Lewis took us to the zoo. But you're never too old for it. And Max and Emily were happy when they found out what we were doing. I smiled and looked up at him.

"I like yours too," I gestured to his denim shorts rolled up to his knees. "You could've shaved though." I joked moving forward to the window. He laughed and laced his fingers through mine.

"I was in a rush." He smiled before looking at the woman at the window. "Two adults and two children please." He asked getting his wallet out.

"My mum gave money for Max, Emily and I." I said going to my pocket. He shook his head and smiled.
