~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE
"My neck hurts," Lewis complained sitting up. He groaned and rubbed the back of his neck.
"What do you expect? You just slept on a couch." I yawned and took the blanket off my lap.
"You would have a sore neck if I wasn't such a gentleman and let you sleep on me." He looked over at me and smirked.
"Yeah, you're such a gentleman." I said sarcastically standing up. "What time is it?" I stood on my toes and stretched.
"Half past eleven," he stood up and ran his hands through his hair. "Are your parents home yet?"
"I woke up just before you did. How am I suppose to know?" I looked at him flatly before leaving the living room.
"It was just a question Sarky. Someone clearly isn't a morning person." He walked behind me, putting his hands on my waist. I rolled my eyes and walked into the kitchen. I stopped suddenly when I saw my dad sitting at the table.
"Hey Roxy," he smiled up at me. "Mark," he dropped his smile and nodded at Lewis.
"It's good to see you Mr Smith." Lewis said politely.
"How're you feeling?" I moved away from Lewis and sat down opposite my dad.
"Better than last night. Just tired and feel a little bit sick. But I'm okay," he smiled at me reassuringly.
"When did you get home?"
"About half past nine this morning. Is there a reason why you were sleeping on the sofa?" He raised his eyebrows at me questionably.
"We were watching a movie when we came home. We must've fallen asleep." It was a little bit embarrassing and awkward that my parents saw us lying on the sofa together. "Where is mum?" I felt Lewis lean on the back of my chair.
"She took Max and Emily out to get some groceries. But while you're here, I'd like to have a word with Mark." He looked above me to Lewis.
"Alright, I'm going to get ready to go to the gym." I stood up and looked at Lewis. He smiled as I walked past him. I glanced back at them as I walked out the door. I wonder what that is about.
"So what did my dad want?" I asked as I watched Lewis doing some weights. And let me tell you, this guy is strong.
"Just to talk about stuff." He grunted lifting the weight up.
"What stuff?" I pressed, walking over to the weights rack beside him.
"Just about us really. It's just that conversation every dad has with his daughter's boyfriend."
I groaned and sat down on the bench beside him. "What was he saying?" I grabbed his water bottle and took a drink.
"He was just asking me all these questions. Like why I asked you out in the first place. How serious I am about you. Just all of that stuff." He pushed the weight up onto the support and sat up.
