I gasped as the cold shower hit my back. The pressure felt like spikes across my naked skin. I had to wake up though, I've been caught dreaming about him every second I'm alone.

I miss the way his eyes would find mine when we found both found something to be funny. I miss when he would wake up beside me in the morning and his hair would be a tangled mess.

I shivered at the thought of him, I've already adjusted to the water temperature. I sighed and turned the knob colder until goosebumps attacked my skin.

I remember when he would lean in for a kiss. He always made sure he didn't waste our kisses. He would save them for moments we would both remember. I can still remember our first kiss, it at the yearly county fair on the Ferris wheel. We both thought it was cheesy but I wouldn't have asked for it any other way to be completely honest.

I also unfortunately remember our last kiss. I could still feel it lingering on my lips. He was acting funny all day but I never really noticed until now. I had been so oblivious to him, caught up in schoolwork and my job. We were always up late arguing about money and school I should've seen it coming. We were both tired and young back then we didn't know what we were doing. I think he was just tired of scraping by with no ambition for the future. We lived day by day and he wanted so much more. We didn't want the same things and we split up.

The cold water obviously wasn't distracting me so I turned the faucet off and stepped out of the bath tub. I dried myself off and looked at myself in the mirror. I saw a broken girl. The boy that I thought loved me broke me to a million little pieces, forcing me to glue myself back together. My face was paler than usual and the bags under my eyes were more prominent that before. The dead ends on my hair were more than noticeable but I never got enough energy to schedule a haircut. He definitely ruined me, he left me and the memories behind.
