I huffed as I sat the moving box on the floor and stared. The room was overflowing with brown, cardboard boxes. Cameron walked inside and sat the last box on top of mine. He did as I did and stared at the flooded room.
"We have way too much stuff" he determined, changing his glance from the boxes to me. I smiled at him. He immediately gave me a confused look.
"We have to much stuff" I said poking his sides. He grabbed my hands and pulled me into a hug.
"Yes, we do" he said with a low chuckle, "Now how are you gonna unpack it all?" He joked. I gasped and playfully slapped his chest. He pulled me close and hugged me, placing a kiss on the top of my head. We recently decided to buy a house, being newlyweds. It had three bedrooms, a huge kitchen, and high ceilings, everything I've ever dreamed about. The best part of it is I get to live in it with my husband. I let go of Cameron and walked to the kitchen. He followed me and pulled a box cutter out of his pocket.
In the first box was full of pictures and old photo albums. I knew that was gonna be all the unpacking for the day because we got preoccupied in going through the pictures. Together we sat on the floor, and sifted through the pictures. Some of them were pictures from our childhood, other pictures taken throughout our relationship.
"Do you remember when we took this?" Cameron asked pointing to a picture of the two of us fishing.
I laughed and nodded my head, "Right after this was taken the fish flopped and you got so scared you dropped it!" I started telling him.
"Yeah and then it touched my foot and I moved so quick, my hand hit the fishing pole and the hook got me in the hand" he finished. We sat in the silence of our new home and laughed at the old memory. "We're gonna make so many good memories in this house" Cameron said, I agreed with him. "Especially in the bedroom"
I gasped before I burst into giggles, yeah we're adults, but we still are allowed to act like children sometimes. "Let's take a picture to put in the photo album" I told him, hoping the picture would bring back happy memories in the future. I pulled out my cell phone and started taking pictures of Cameron and myself.
"We're gonna have to show our future kids these old pictures" He told me. I stared at him, awestruck. Out of the blue I kissed him, almost like I was in a dream and trying to test if it was real or not. It was real all right, I'm just living my dream life.
"I'm so happy with you" I randomly said. It's true, I swear I'm the luckiest person in the world. My husband is handsome, smart, funny, and charming, everything I could have asked for and more.
"Everyday I tell myself I'm lucky because I got to marry you" he told me. You'd think with us being married that I'd be used to the compliments, but still I felt my cheeks turn tomato red. I kissed his lips again and rested my head on his shoulder, turning my attention to the old pictures.
