"Connie..."

"Jacob..." She replied, appearing at the bottom of the stairs looking beautiful despite the unearthly hour,

"You're very beautiful," he smiled, stepping over to her and winking at her,

"it takes me longer to get ready since the accident... And that does not mean I will leave the house looking a wreck,"

"I've never seen you look a wreck..."

"Now I know you're lying," she replied, "either that or you need glasses,"

He smiled, taking her hands in his and squeezing them, "come on, let's go and watch sunrise,"

She tiptoed up and kissed him gently, "let's go,"

She watched as he lay out a blanket onto the grassy floor, before handing her another one to wrap around them. She hesitated as she went to sit on the floor, her legs still felt wobbly when she got up and down from a low level. "Okay?" He asked,

She nodded, "yes," she smiled as she sat, glad as he sat behind her and cuddled her too him,

He pulled out some fresh pastries, fruit, champagne and some orange juice, "what's this in aid of?" She asked as he shrugged, pressing his lips against the side of her head,

"Us," he smiled,

They watched the sunset in a contented silence, Jacob pressed his lips against her neck, "you better not be asleep Mrs. Beauchamp..."

"I'm not... Although it's not like we got much last night is it..."

He brushed her hair from her forehead, "I can't help the fact you're irresistible,"

He inhaled deeply as he watched the way she stood overlooking the now bright view over Holby.

He checked the ring was in his pocket before kneeling onto one knee beside her and taking her hand,

"What are you doing?" She asked quietly,

"I love you," he told her, surprised as tears sprung to her eyes, "I love everything about you from the way you cuddle into me in bed, to the noises you make as we make love... I love how you are with your daughter and I love watching you work,"

She placed a gentle hand on his cheek, her thumb stroking his skin gently, "what an incredible, beautiful, brave woman like you sees in me I'll never know, but I'm too selfish to care," he smiled, "marry me Connie... You'll make me the happiest man alive if you agree to marry me,"

She smiled, "Stand up..."

He did as she asked and looked at her bemused, she squeezed his hand gently, "you haven't asked me a question yet..."
