I had hardly left the Lab when my phone dinged. Alphys updated her status on the social media site. 'just realized I didn't watch undyne fight the human v. v'. A few more steps, and... Ding! 'well i know she's unbeatable i'll ask her abt it later ^. ^' Another step... Ding! 'for now i gotta call up the human and guide them =^. ^='. Ugh, Alphys!
The path was a narrow, brightly lit ridge. On either side of it was just blackness lit only by distant lights of buildings and the boiling lava far below. It hanged a left, and split into two conveyer belts connected with pinkish pipes. One went onward; the other came back. I walked onto the pipes (which made a ringing, hollow sound when I stepped on them) and onto the conveyer belt going onward. It moved fast, shooting me onto another set of pipes, and then back onto the dusty path.
Ding! Alphys updated her status. 'gonna call them in a minute!!! =^. ^=' Thanks for the warning, Alphys.
The path connected this ridge with the next one, which broke off into a maze of conveyer belts. Each path was three belts across and went forward, then left... forward, then right... forward, then left... a path of pipes led to the next ridge, which was sweltering because it was surrounded by magma. This was such a strange land!
The whooshing sound of steam and cogs... it fills me with determination.
Ding! 'I HATE USING THE PHONE I DON'T WANT TO DO THIS LMAO ^. ^'
A steam vent with an arrow pointing left shot me over a small gap. I was now on a small island of rock in the lava lake, wondering how I hadn't burned holes in my boots. Steam vents shot me from island to island, while I tried to find a way out. What I found instead was a burnt frying pan on the ground (which hadn't melted in the heat, for some reason). I figured I'd take it. It might come in useful. Nothing like a frying pan for hitting things.
The monsters in this area were strange. There was Vulkin, a monster shaped like a volcano with a face and feet. It seemed kind of arrogant and laid back, mistakenly believing its lava could heal people. It shot thunderbolts at my SOUL from a storm cloud. There was Tsunderplane, which was an airplane in a pink bonnet that tried a little too hard to be hostile. Little white attack planes bombarded my SOUL, and I very nearly died. It seemed to appreciate that I got close to it, but not too close. Once I was at a comfortable distance, it blushed and I could spare it. There was also Pyrope, which was a mischevious monster that loved heat. I don't know how to describe it, but it was sort of fish-shaped, with a large flame for a head and a metal tail... it stood upright and bounced up and down. It shot bombs at me and wouldn't leave me alone until I made it even hotter than it already was. I nearly passed out, but it seemed happy, and I could finally spare it.
Later on, I met two Pyropes, which according to them was "the rare and threatening Double Davis". While fighting them, I ate the Instant Noodles. That was a mistake. I removed the Instant Noodles from their packaging. I put some water in the pot and place it on the heat. I waited for the water to boil......... It's boiling. I placed the noodles into the pot. 4 minutes left... until the noodles... are finished. 3... minutes left... until the noodles... are finished. 2... minutes left... until the noodles... are finished. 1... minute left... until the noodles... are finished. The noodles... are finished. ...they don't taste very good. I added the flavor packet. That's better. Not great, but better. I ate the Instant Noodles. They barely recovered any of my energy!
When the Pyropes killed me, I went to Temmie Village to sell the Instant Noodles. ("Tra la la. Don't snoop behind people's houses...You might be mistaken for a trash can," said the River Person.) Temmie seemed to like them. I called Papyrus and Undyne to tell them about the Instant Noodles as I walked away from Temmie Village. Undyne picked up. "Once you get familiar with this room... you don't even need to light up the mushrooms!" she said once I told her where I was. I mean, the path to Temmie Village is never lit up here. But why would you wanna go there!? It's down south if you want to avoid it."

FanfictionThis is a novel version of Undertale's Pacifist Run. I hope it reads like a novel, rather than simply a narration of the game. Almost all dialogue is taken directly from the game (except for the protagonist's, which is obviously improvised). In the...
