I walked away from the stage, into another blue hallway. Alphys came behind me. "S... Sorry about that!" she said. "L-let's k-keep going!" I kept walking forward, not looking at her. "S-so you're about to meet ASGORE, h-huh? You must be... y-you must be... pr... pretty excited about all that, huh?" I didn't say anything. I just kept walking forward. "You'll f-f-finally... You'll finally get to go home!"At the end of the hallway was an elevator. I pressed the button to open the door. "W... wait!" I turned to look at Alphys. "I mean, um... I... I was just going to... um... say goodbye, and..."
"Bye Alphys. Thanks for all your help."
Alphys looked extremely guilty. "I can't take this anymore." She turned away, looking miserable. "I... I lied to you."
"I know. Mettaton told me."
"No... A human SOUL isn't strong enough to cross the barrier alone."
"What!?"
"It takes at least a human SOUL... and a monster SOUL."
"W-what?"
"If you want to go home... you'll have to take his SOUL. You'll have to kill ASGORE."
So... he couldn't just let me leave. I actually had to kill him. I had to kill him! I couldn't believe it. I didn't want to kill him... but I wanted to leave... I thought about what Sans had said. Was it really worth leaving?
Alphys began to walk away. "I'm sorry." She continued down the hallway. Feeling heavy, I stepped into the elevator.

By this point, I had really gotten the hang of my time travel ability. Through my determination alone, I could SAVE the particular time and location where I currently was, and return to that point whenever I died.
Outside the elevator was a hallway of gray stone. I was in Asgore's castle. I SAVEd, and turned left. I was walking along a balcony that had a view of the entire monster city. It was very similar to the city in the Ruins, but gray rather than purple and not as run-down. It was very silent... oddly silent. I'd expect a city to be noiser.
I walked on a bridge between two rows of turrets, and came to a large gray room. I walked through a pile of gray leaves and SAVEd. I was facing a house identical to the one Toriel lived in, complete with piles of leaves below the windows, but all gray rather than purple. Inside was an identical hall, but the walls were white rather than a warm cream color. The floor was also white, rather than brown. The only splash of color in the room was a vase of golden flowers on a table, which was next to a balcony, which overlooked the same staircase, that took the same left turn... the path to the staircase was padlocked. A note on the lock read, 'Howdy! I'm in the garden. If you have anything you need to get off your chest, please don't hesitate to come. The keys are in the kitchen in the hallway.'
I turned right. I ended up in a hallway with doors, identical to the one in Toriel's house. Inside the room that had been mine in Toriel's house was another childrens' room. It had two twin beds in it, and it lacked the box of shoes, but otherwise it was identical. There was even a photo frame on the bookcase! It was a family photo, showing three monsters and a human... everyone was smiling. In the closet were a lot of striped shirts, like the one I was wearing. There was a drawing of a golden flower on the wall. The beds looked so comfortable... if I lay down in one, I might never get up.
On the floor were two white present boxes tied with red ribbons. Curious, I opened one. There was a heart-shaped locket inside the box. I took it and put it on. I didn't feel like I was stealing from anyone; this room clearly hadn't been used in years. In the other box was a worn dagger, perfect for cutting plants. I took it. It might be useful.

FanfictionThis is a novel version of Undertale's Pacifist Run. I hope it reads like a novel, rather than simply a narration of the game. Almost all dialogue is taken directly from the game (except for the protagonist's, which is obviously improvised). In the...
