I usually do this for my own books, so I'm going to do it for Undertale. The hidden meanings of Undertale are very interesting... Most of these are taken from the wiki page, but some I figured out myself. In order of appearance:

CHARACTERS:

FLOWEY: Self-explanatory. Maybe Asriel inherited his father's inability to name things well.

TORIEL: A play on "tutorial". Not only is she the game's tutorial boss, but she also is desperate to be a tutor; a teacher or guide. "Tutor" also comes from a word meaning "to watch" or "to guard".

NAPSTABLOOK: the game's wiki page cites "napstablook" as being a play on "napster bloke".... napster is apparently a cite for sharing music files....... "blook" may also be a play on "spook"... oh..........

sans: "comic sans", the font, obviously. sans himself is very comical. "sans" means "without", and is also used in the names of other simplistic fonts, such as sans serif, which may indicate sans' laziness. it may also indicate sans' nihilism.

PAPYRUS: THE FONT, OBVIOUSLY!!! PAPYRUS IS A KIND OF PAPER MADE FROM WATER PLANTS, AND USED IN ANCIENT EGYPT!! NOW, IT'S USED FOR MAKING ROPE, SANDLES, BOATS, AND CANVASES!

DOGGO: A word meaning "to remain motionless and quiet to escape detection" UNDYNE: An undine is a kind of female water spirit, like a nymph. Undyne's name is spelled with a "y" to make it a play on the word "Undying".

TEMMIE: Temmie Chang is the name of one of the game's main artists.

ALPHYS: According to the wiki, Alphys is an anagram of "shy pal". Alphys also sounds like "alpha", which (in the context of "alpha and omega") may refer to Alphys' ability to create things (like the Almalgamates, Mettaton's body, and Flowey). Relevantly, Photoshop Flowey is also called Omega Flowey. Alphys created him, and he wants to destroy the world.

METTATON: Mettaton sounds like Metatron, which is the name of an Archangel (like Azrael). Metatron was considered an ascended form of Enoch, and a record-keeper for God. Metatron is transliterated into Greek as "MTT". However, most attempts to connect Mettaton with Archangel Metatron seem a bit of a stretch (the name may have been chosen for the sound of it). Also possible is a combination of "metal" and "automaton". "Meta-" is a prefix meaning "to change" (as in metamorphoses), which may reference Mettaton's drastically different forms.

MUFFET: Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet, eating her curds, whey, and spider donuts.

ASGORE DREEMURR: Asgore's first name is an anagram of "aegros", which a Latin word meaning "troublesome", "anxious", "sad", "difficult", or "reluctant". His last name is an anagram of "murderer". This means his full name could mean "reluctant murderer", which he is. His full name is also an anagram of "Sage or Murderer" (a wise person, or a killer).

ASRIEL DREEMURR: Threefold. Asriel sounds like Azrael, the name of the Hebrew Angel of Death, who brings human souls to the afterlife. Asriel becomes the God of Hyperdeath himself, and also takes people's souls. However, unlike the God of Hyperdeath, Archangel Azrael is a benign, gentle figure. Azrael means "whom God helps", and he is the angel associated with grief counseling (which Asgore desperately needs because of Asriel's death). Being named after an angel also indicates that Asriel is "the Angel that has Seen the Surface" that will free all the monsters, represented in the Delta Rune. "Asriel" is also a combination of Asgore and Toriel's names (remember, Asgore's bad at names). Finally, "Asriel Dreemurr" is an anagram of "serial murderer".

FRISK: To "frisk" means to skip or leap playfully or to frolic. This might indicate moving quickly and erratically, which you have to do to avoid all the monsters' attacks. To "frisk" also means to pat someone down to search for hidden items. You could say the game is frisking you for your cruelty (though that may be a stretch).

CHARA: Chara is short for "character", because they, rather than the protagonist, are the character that the player names at the beginning of the game. They are called the "Fallen Child" which is meant literally in that they were the first to fall into the Underground, but also figuratively in that they are "fallen" as in "depraved". Everything in Undertale is a pun, even very dark puns.

PLACES:

Mt. EBOTT: Backwards, it spells "Ttobe", that is, Toby.

SNOWDIN: A play on "snowed in". Snowed Inn is the name of the inn there. Everything is a pun.

OTHER:

"DELTA RUNE" is an anagram of "UNDERTALE".
